  1. Silsbee's record beat Houston Davis pretty bad / 1-0 lost to Diboll - Silsbee deserved to lose / 1-1 lost to Lumberton by 6 - A 4A that should win their district / 1-2 lost to Newton (state ranked) by one due to a last minute 60-70 yard pass play / 1-3 Silsbee is very prepared to take second in district and has a chance at 1st.
  2. Silsbee 28 Jasper 21 Silsbee is far better than their record.
  3. This is our first year with GTB. Very impressed with the 'Spring Training' format on Sundays. Great coaches and a first class organization.
  4. He plays select. Has been using a 21 oz. I think. I've heard a lot of kids talk about jumping up to 26-30 oz.
  5. As players move from 12 to 13 yrs. In general, what size bats do they move up to? I've heard that most make a pretty large jump in weight. I'm a basketball guy who is learning this baseball stuff as I go.
  6. Try the select softball section on this site.
  7. Congrats to the 12 Premier Gladiators on finishing 1st out of 103 teams in Cooperstown.
  8. Maybe Nations will move them up after this tourney. I don't know all the circumstances, but looking at their roster, they are the same team that was an 11-elite in May. They added 2 players, changed their team name, and are now classified as 11-select. It's no big deal really. It is an open tournament. While researching the competition i noticed this and thought it looked funny.
  9. I agree with you Bulldg. But what about a team that changes their name and moves down a level. That's all about the coach, not the team.
  10. I guess Nations doesn't keep track of the teams as well as USSSA. We are playing in Houston this weekend against a team that until last month was a 11-elite team. They changed their name, picked up two new players, and are now an 11-select team?? Doesn't seem fair.
  11. Will SETX Select hold any tryouts for 13 yr old teams for the fall and spring?
  12. Keep looking on this site and at the SE Texas Baseball Academy site (Ford Park). Lots of teams post their tryout info on these.
  13. If someone looked deep enough, they could dig up some dirt from when he was involved in Lufkin Little League.
  14. Last night in 12 yr olds -- Jaseper scored three in the 5th to beat Silsbee 6-5.
  15. No particular reason other than I just don't know the whole story. You can find his name on the Nations website.
  16. I don't know the whole story, so I won't mention any names. I do know that his team played two tournaments at Ford Park and were never heard from again.
  17. The team was named on page 2. They were an 11U Select team
