Both have exeprience coaching on the Division I level while Woodard has Class A, arena football, NFL Europe and JUCO coaching experience. I have to correct Mr. Whitely, the last district championship was in 2000, the year we dethroned G-Ball from a 6 yr rule of 24-5A . I should know...I started for that team. But. We don't have a solo rule so far. We still need to take care of WB.
You gotta consider what your recruiting against and the type of player it takes to be successful at the collegiate level. The premiere local guys are playing at Austin,Norman and College Station. The guys that are left are good high school players on average teams.Thats just not condusive to winning big time college football games. There is a reason Sam Houston did not have a loaded local roster.
I understand, and agree there are a lot of average young men left behind, but I believe u scrub ur roster out, then go get ur freshman class u plan on putting ur neck out for!  There are always guys left behind that can develop in to great college players.

Therefore go get a new qb in the fall. Not that hard and move to Johnson to db and if he dont like it hit the road bc he did  before. Simple solutions. Just my take.  8)
I agree with everything u say, but the fact that Prewitt is too small...explain to me if he was 2 inches taller how that makes him a better QB...

 17.
I was watching the game on TV and happened to hear that Sam Houston didn't have any recruits that came from the local clubs while Lamar was continously calling players name from Lumberton,Kelly, WB etc. This is not a knock on local clubs but it is impossible to build a successful college program when you recruit that heavily locally.
I disagree.  There is plenty of talent in setx, juco's and at Lamar...just got to know how to use it, and how to recruit it.

Interesting...... So, why is C-Mike the leading rusher for a top 25 FBS school and Garrett cannot get on the field for a Lamar team?
Garrett was a better back in HIGH SCHOOL, during his Jr year especially...their not in high school anymore...why isn't Garrett on the field at Lamar?  Same reason the team still looks like a first year program after 3 or four years(coaching).......Garret started at TULANE as a Safety after playing WR/RB/DB at West Brook.  they pretty much stopped giving him an opportunity at RB after his Jr yr...Averaged 7.5 yds per carry as a senior was playing a little bit both ways RB/WR/DB...AGAIN I was there at ALL the practices, ALL the games, and 7 on 7 for 3 yrs ...he's not the first person to leave WB that didn't get what he should have....some years WB just has too much talent(Nick Barber, the kids a Legacy, etc...)...In my opinion, somebody didn't want another year of splitting carries (Albert Williams, Garrett, Cooper, etc...);) LAMAR should move him to RB, he's a great ATH and has the frame for a RB with great hands, did I mention he can throw too?  The boy throws about as hard as Bevil...with an off-season at RB he's good enough to get in the rotation... 8)
