I think it's on to talks Trash sometimes. But I think some of these coaches take it too serious. I use baseball or sports in general as a way to teach my two boys about committment, work ethics and just plain ole giving 100% in what ever they do. Are the Gladiators the best? Ah, no. Are there better teams out there (ah, Roughriders), and I'm sure there are lesser experienced teams out there. I tell not only my kids but all the kids I coach, there is always somebody that's going to be stronger, bigger, and faster, but the true test is if and when you get knocked down will you get up for some more. People may think I'm cheesey, but I show the kids I coach in all sport to drive to win, and whether you win or lose has nothing to do with the scoreboard. 

Whatever bobcate89. The 20 plus team comment was about the tournament as a whole not just the 9u bracket. I hope you don't have a family member that plays at Ford Park tournaments because then your a hypocrite and your not going to get a Christmas card.

Next time I'll send you a PM to make sure that the Tournament meets your approval. I guess the 20 something teams that showed up are a joke too, and half the team where from Houston but not the right part of Houston for you.

Any kid with the heart to be out there in the 100 plus temperature are awesome kids that are dedicated to the game. For the kids and the parents the win means no less whether it's Nations or USSSA. Dedication at any level is worth congratulations. Congratulations to Slam for placing 3rd in the Texas State Tournament. For two team from Southeast Texas to place in this tournament says a lot about our area.

The GT Red 8U Baseball Team won the Texas State Championship Tournament on Sunday, June 28, 2009. The Golden Triangle Baseball 8 & Under Red Team defeated The Texas Extreme at Big League Dreams in Webster, Texas 9 - 1 in the championship game. They were seeded #1 after defeating The Baytown Bombers 15 - 1 and The San Antonio Tar Heels 14 - 0 on Saturday, June 27, 2009. These games led up to the Sunday, June 28, 2009 game against The Express which produces a 12 - 2 win placing them in the finals. This extraordinary team of young men will advance to the World Series in Sulphur, LA on July 5, 2009 to compete with teams from all over the United States. Way to go GT!!

Great games Groves. I take nothing away from you. Your kids are all stand up guys. Props to the field guys, they did a great job on the field. Sorry can't say much about the Umpire behind the plate.
