1. Ward was the last out of the 5th, so we should have Jalali, Sparrow, and Gizzi up.
 2.
Bolcerek up runner caught stealing at 2nd.  Not sure why Long steals there with you best hitter at the plate?
Especially with Provost back there! He hoses em!
 3. Sounds like Nelson is coming through once again in the playoffs for the Indians! He pitched a fine game 3 against Crosby and has some key at bats tonight! Go Indians!
 4.

I know one thing....  You better get there early if you want a seat.  I know PNG travels well for football, so I'm assuming the baseball following won't be too bad.  Brenham will pack just about any high school field.  It's no secret that we love our baseball.  The fact that both offenses are stacked, should make this an entertaining series.  Schlottmann vs Stone in game 1.  You could possibly see this match up in years to come, as both are Big 12 committs. (Schlottmann- Texas A&M & Stone- Baylor)
I wish Brenham would throw their ace against us in game one, because I think we stand a better chance of winning with Graham on the mound in game 2.. It gives us a "Much Better" offense and defense with Him pitching.. I like the theory in a series like this "Hope to split first two then see what happens in game three"...
Graham is out for the season after hurting his arm in game 3 against Crosby, but either way Anderson starts game two. Anderson has been very quiet this season because Stone's commit to Baylor has out shined him, but he has been just as solid, if not more solid than Stone when he is on the hill.
 5. Well, BOHICA is -16 on his prediction since he said that the Cougars would win by 6. How many you think that they will win by tomorrow, BOHICA? Great game Indians! Way to go!
 6. After seeing how well the Indians made contact on Gaby, I am confident in my Indians going into game 2 with Anderson (who has been fantastic all year) on the mound. The score and hit columns do not show how hard the Indians hit the ball all night, because they were hit straight to the defenders, but they had a lot of solid hit balls last night. And to commend Gaby, he made 4 fantastic plays on the mound that were really hard hit bouncers straight back to him. I'm a homer, but I see the Indians taking games 2 and 3 because of pitching depth that I know they have.

(Humble didn't make the playoffs... Awaiting our Friday night date with Huntsville) ;)
Hahaha, my mistake, I read on another forum that Brenham was playing Humble. Good luck to y'all, I know I want to see you guys in the second round... But first Crosby!

 9.
sorry cody but you must have not been watching during the last six words of the anthem. some (not all) left after three of those last six words i am not near as embarrassed for them for that as i was for the language they used.  it seems to go unnoticed by their adults on the field. but you can't miss hearing it at the fence.
If you don't think that every single other team in the district (including your team) does not use filthy language, you're mistaken.

Were they back to back homers?
sounds like it.. gizzi bats second and provost bats third in the order
That's what I thought, how exciting... HUGE win.
 11. Great win for the team's morale, excited to see what happens the rest of the season.
 12.

If the dropout rate rises because a student can't play athletics and has no self-motivation to make themself a better individual, then what does that say about our kids? I would never want athletics to be cut, there are too many positives. I played sports and understand the good, but I don't understand needing an incentive to pass. Why can't a student just want to be a good student and complete there high school education?
Because we live in the real world and some kids just need that motivation.
So what motivation are 'those' kids going to have to get through college? Especially the 95% who don't play college athletics?  They really need to be able to pass because they want to do well, not because they won't play if they fail. How about parents, college, careers, where is that motivation? Or are we basically saying, "Man I can't wait to get to school where I can barely squeeze by just to be able to play my sport." Sounds lazy to me
For starters, we are talking about adolescence here, not adults. Secondly, without the time and dedication to sports many kids go to other things outside of school that would jeopardize not only school and grades, but lives. Last, sorry that we don't live in an utopian society where everyone wants to always work as hard as they can at school work!
 13. As much as people want to think that academics is the only thing that matters in school, it's not. Of course in the long run students are going to benefit more by being educated than being a football player or softball, etc., but there are so many more things in high school that students don't receive by just going to class. Of course without high school sports the drop out rate would increase immensely (as already stated) but there are life skills learned through sports. I would in no way, shape, or form be the person I am today if I didn't learn how to overcome adversity presented to me through games and training in my years of high school. High school sports also give many kids an incentive to pass, which is another plus added to the list. There are bigger issues in this world besides money and standardized testing and getting rid of fun things to make education so much more serious. The state and federal governments are too worried about being so strict on students with standardized tests and having these budgets that high school is becoming nothing more than an absolutely hated place where even less is getting accomplished. I went to school and took that TAKS and because of TAKS (which I hear is getting the boot), the teachers were forced to teach TAKS and not the material that they really needed to teach. If high school sports were done away with, the focus would no longer be on the well-being of students, but rather on money.
 14. Another 14 k night for stone (if i counted right). He really steps up later in the game whenever he gives up a homer or something. Good night on the hill. Glad to see the Indians get a W against a quality team... They still have some kinks, but they are on their way back.
 15. Stone gets the start, PNG starts stringing together hits again and wins a close one... Whoever wins the game will not win by more than 2 I don't think. LCM is very good and PNG has lost by 1 in all three losses. 6-4 PNG
 16.

Maybe left to many on but give the pitcher some credit.Looks like He did his job.
I agree.  It doesn't have to be a pretty win, just a win.
Although I agree on giving the pitcher his credit, it was not anywhere near the strongest pitcher PNG has seen thus far, the Indians did not hit the ball well.
 17. Everyone knows that PNG has Stone, but what most people don't know is that they have pitching depth after that. Alexx Anderson started against Tioga (Louisiana 4a ranked 11 in state in this poll: [Hidden Content] ) in the Sulphur tournament and he gave up 1 run with 10k's in 5 innings because the Indians were up 14-1 the game ended. Knox and Ward have also looked great on the mound.
 18. The rebounds and 3 ball are what killed PNG in this one I think. PNG shot the 3 ball pretty well most of the year, just couldn't get it to fall tonight. I hope this wasn't even close to Crosby's best game, if it was then the rest of 19-4A is in trouble.
 19. Very even game throughout the entire game, Nederland's goal came from a deflected ball off of the ref that resulted in a break away, great shot though. The refs were evenly bad in this game. They were terrible all night, there were 3 or 4 deflections off of the ref when a player passed the ball because he just wouldn't move out of the way when people got relatively close. They called an offsides on PNG that looked completely on sides (from my angle) and resulted in a great goal but was obviously called back. Any other opinions on this game?
 20. going to be a great mid-county madness game... I hope there is a good crowd!
