Vidor is going to get beat pretty bad. They won't be able to handle the Nederland defensive line at all. Too much size and skill upfront for Nederland for a much smaller Vidor team that wants to run the ball the whole time.
What are your credentials and how are you so sure?!
It was a prediction, buddy. Why are you so sure about a Vidor team who has only won some cupcake games?
That's where you are wrong...I never claimed to have been "so sure" .. I just asked you a simple question... Don't be so uptight Dog ( excuse the pun) 8)
Ahhh, but that's where you're wrong. I'm a PNG alumni.

 4. Here is a fun fact: last time PNG won 21-20 in week 0 they went 10-0  ;)
 5. A big part of some programs retaining coaches for long periods of time and have some move on quickly has to do with the state of their family and their age. The coaches that have moved on or that have applied for other jobs to move up have young families. Also, these coaches are relatively young themselves and they are not necessarily ready to settle down in one place, so, they continue to try and climb the ladder.
 6. Do you have to play the same position you played in high school? I've slimmed up too much to play on the line!
I'm curious, I wonder if when the Titans beat Cibolo does anyone think they'll actually make it on the top 50 in the national polls, replacing maybe Katy who lost? Could they even possible take Cibolo's place at number 18?
They made this top 50... #39 in the nation. [Hidden Content]

Does anyone remember PNG-Central brawl? The year that happened, PNG had a ton of seniors and had a rough year... Would punishing PNG the next season be a righteous punishment? Not at all! Most of the fighters were seniors (general statement because the team was mostly seniors). They didn't care. My point is that you can't ruin the next season for the juniors, sophomores, and freshman who had absolutely no part in this fight. That's why the coaches are left with the punishment. If there is film on the fight, you can punish individual players, but you can't punish the entire program, a good chunk of both teams will be new next year.
You see it happen in colleges all the time.  A school would be barred from the playoffs (Bowl Games) for X # of yrs.  Yes, you're punishing kids that may not have been involved,  but the main purpose, IMO, is to straighten the coaches out.    Because, ultimately,  discipline comes from the coaches and is instilled in to the players.
Coaches have no control over knee jerk reactions from a player that is in the heat of a game and emotional. You can discipline a player all you want as a coach, but some guys are just hot headed and will fight, no matter who the coach. A team has a tight knit and if one player is getting in a fight others are going to step in. College is WAY different from high school. There is no comparison because those are adult students who chose to go to the school they go to, not kids that are living with their parents. I was a sophomore whenever PNG got into the brawl with Central. I had absolutely nothing to do with it and if they would have punished our program I would have never gotten the opportunity to experience my junior and senior year where we went 2 and 3 rounds deep.

 10. I am very surprised that DE Jake Davis of PNG is not on this list.
Them and three other teams.  Lol
Agreed. But Ozen finished 4th. Barely edging out Livingston. Makes you wonder where Brenham would be in 20-4A?  ;) Just poking fun.
 12.
hey are not nearly as over-rated as 20-4A.  I hope BH get's to play them this year so we can see them up close and personal.  Been a while since I watched Brenham.  I do think their district is over-rated as a whole, but still very good.
Funny  ;D

Unfortunately retaliatory trash talking ensued....I can see that newindian is upset, but sitting on the couch after the 2nd round can do that...my butt is still a little sore from 4th round last year..good luck Dayton  and HOKA HEY!
I'm not surprised someone from PNG brought this up... Look at the film and see how dirty and desperate PNG played.  Yet, get on the computer a talk bad about Manvel.  Sore loser! It's cool though... Dayton congradulations, you guys are a hard working group of kids.  May the best team win Friday.
Both teams had players that were talking smack and taunting before and during the game. Both teams were dirty. Drop it and move on...
 15. Lots of 4th down conversions. Ozen had 1 in the first drive. Brenham had 2 in the first drive and 1 in the second drive.
 16.
How can you put a price on a players Knee's ? Belive me its hard to find jobs in some industries when you have bad knee's.
Some teams really don't have the money to buy 5-6 $500 pairs of knee braces. Not to mention that they are fitted so it won't always fit the next guy in line. I think every team would love to provide their players with knee braces, but it's not always in the budget.
 17.
Has PNG seen a decrease in knee injurys since they seem to be the ones that use them? Just asking because I don't know the answer.
PNG 2009 and 2010 offensive lines only suffered one knee injury combined. It came in the playoffs last year to the center, Parks. If I'm not mistaken it came more from hitting his knee on the ground extremely hard and not from a typical reason. They are very effective, but very expensive.
 18. The only team that can be compared to Brenham that the Panthers have faced is Memorial... we know how that turned out... Ozen is hot right now, but they can't beat a team that is just as athletic as they are, has great lines on both sides of the ball, and is a legitimate chance to win state. I hope Ozen wins with all that is in me, but I just don't see it happening... Brenham has way too much depth across the board.
 19.
If you are banking on the broncos being overwhelmed by the moment tonight, you're in trouble. The broncos are used to the big games, we have played in a few more meaningful games than y'all have in the last few years. Y'all should know from experience that we are not intimidated by your big crowds and loud mouths.
I don't believe y'all have played in a few more meaningful/big games in the last few years. Go back two years (because that's the only people that could possibly have been on the team) PNG went 10-0 with big games against Nederland, Central, BH, and Brenham. Last year: PNG had big games against GP (Alamodome), Nederland, pretty much the last 5 regular season games were huge after starting 1-4, BH, Willis, and Manvel. Nederland is a bigger stage and game every single year than what Dayton has.
 20. I just want to clarify all the beating of Barber's Hill on the board. Although I know that most taking shots are all in fun and at the other posters, some posters need to remember that the players had nothing to do with the trash talk on the board and to not take shots at the Barber's Hill team or say stuff like "they had it coming." They played their hearts out and we have to remember that they are just 16, 17, and 18 year olds that should be encouraged on what a great season they had this year, even if they didn't go as far as they wanted. Great season and keep your head up BH, from a PNG fan.
 21. My FEARLESS prediction: The purple and white team WILL win!
 22. I may have had purple glasses on when I read the 4A division 2 brackets, but both read Port Neches-Groves as the state champs. Weird. I looked at 5A div. II and I REALLY like Memorial's chances to go at least 4 rounds. I hope they go far.
 23. This is a very interesting match up. I think Barber's Hill is highly favored and most likely going to win this game. I'll even venture to say they are a much better team than Ozen. But, I put Barber's Hill on high upset alert, not only because they just lost to a team that has a very similar back field as Ozen, but because Ozen can be world beaters one game, then be well below average the next. I think this is going to be a fine game to watch. If Ozen get momentum early, I wouldn't be surprised to see an upset.
 24. Anyone that compares preseason stats to now is totally out of their minds. LCM was 4-0... 1-0 against 19-4A (GCM)... Shouldn't that mean that they should be in the playoffs? Last year PNG started their season 1-4 and went as deep as Dayton (got a free pass in round 2) and deeper than any other 19 or 20-4A team. It's not how you start, it's how you finish. You can compare preseason stats all you want, but that fact remains that NONE of these teams are even remotely the same. Every team has gotten better this season and I think that there will probably be another 2-2 split, but I think the upset alert is on BH... Ozen can turn into world beaters on any given night... It doesn't happen often, but it happens. BH, Crosby, PNG, and Ned make it through.
 25.
19-4A can go 4-0 if we all play our game and make fewer mistakes.  All 4 19-4A teams are better.
20-4A can go 4-0 if they all score more points than the 19-4A teams they play. How can you say all 4 19-4A teams are better? That is ridiculous. I wish that PNG was playing BH again so we could send y'all home crying and making excuses for the 3rd straight year.
