Way to go Lady Rebels! I am so proud of all of you! It has already been said, but it's worth saying again that Coach Hollyfield is an awesome coach and is so dedicated to his team! Every girl that has ever been on his team knows that they are better ball players because of him. I know that my own daughter missed out on an opportunity of a life time...but we wish the rebels the very best for years to come!!

Oh...I was there...and you are so right about the officiating...it seems like the game of basketball is getting more and more physical and dirty! All referees now days seem to have their minds made up even before the game starts! I would love to watch a fairly called game just once in my daughter's high school years! But as far EC...they are awesome I have to give them that...they just need to play their game. Deweyville took a hard hit to their team with their PG out for the season....they can still do this if they can control the ball and get stronger on the board!

Welllllll....the way I see it is Ec IS beating everyone in the district, BUT not blowing them away like they should be! They only beat Buna by about 15 0r 16 and the same with Deweyville....I think the ego may be taking over...just play your game!

I think the Lady Pirates will win...if they play their game!  I feel they are a much stronger team! ::)

Deweyville girls got third place...did not have a good game against Colmesneil....lost by 3! LP needs to stay together more and believe in each other. When they play as a team, they do so much better!

Not a great game for the pirates...I think they are tired and have a few sickly players. Some well needed rest should help get them back on track! Keep working together Ladies!

EC has a great team! #15 is very impressive!! D'ville stayed with them until about bottom of third quarter....too many turn overs! Great game...keep working together Pirates!

EC is gonna be super tough this year...not too worried about Hardin.

Yea, that's some very talented girls...can't wait to see how far they go...should be all the way!! Best of luck to all of you! BTW....I haven't heard of anybody having hard feelings over the Deweyville tournament last year...For my own personal reasons I hate that the pirates are not playing in Evadale's tournament...I think the girls would have more competition there than High Island...just my opinion..but, what do I know?

This is the first year in many many years that Deweyville will not be there...I'm wondering why? It is always such a good tournament....I am disappointed! :-X :-\

I can tell you that the Sharks coach's veins were poking out of his neck so bad by half time that I thought he was gonna blow...and I would hate to have been in that locker room! Whatever he said or screamed I should say...worked! They decided to play ball in the 2nd half! It was just not enough to overcome the Mighty Pirates!! GO BIG RED!!!!!!!!

Oh yea, they can definately hang....I was not sayin' that at all!! I just didn't understand about the split..I know about that REBEL pride! ;)

you all know I am biased to the pirates and especially the post girl.....I have to say that Slam you must have not watched the same game I did because a person doesn't score 28 points in a game sittin' the bench. So I don't think the bears took her out of the game. Also, I think the point guard needs to be cut a break by some of our supporters....she does an excellent job and is the only one getting the ball across the line most of the time. Everyone needs to be more positive and want the pirates as a team to succeed not just focus on one person. I think the girls are playing more like a team this year than any game they played last year! Great job Coach Hammerly....I know this is gonna be a great year!

It was a good game...remember LCM is 4A and d'ville is a small 2A!! It was a 14 point game in the 4th quarter...Good job both teams!

The lady pirates will definately give LCM a fight!
