  1. Huffman celebrates senior night with a 71-41 win.  Congratulations to Faith Pate Stephanie Barker and Allison Boudreaux.  Thanks for the memories
  2. How is that Coldspring cracks the state top 25 and Crosby can't get close.  Played a toughter schedule IMO and no love.  This is team no one is talking about
  3. Any team with Barker and Thedford on it has a shot
  4. Three worth looking at;  Crosby's TJ STewart and LaChad Chatmon and Dayton's Tyler Reynolds
  5. Recent memory, my Mr Clutch goes to Spurger's Daniel Blankenship.  He wanted the ball and knew what to do with it.
  6. Which school do you put at the head of the class for football in the new 19-4A?
  7. I have seen this team play many many times and they are better off without the 7 footer.  He doesnt have the fire to put in the work it takes.  Seems to me he would just as well sit on the bench than run the floor.  He could be and should be dominant but you have to want to bad enough.  If he played with the intensity of Barker they would be a monster force on the floor.
  8. If I can't stop you, you deserve to win by how many points you can out on the board.  I can see bringing your 2nd or 3rd string but you still play every play hard and try to do your best.  No slack attack
  9. He may not be one the hardest hitters all the time but Crosby's special teams player Valdemar Heernandez delivered a crushing blow on PNG in Friday night's game that had fans feeling the pain.
  10. Any more word on this game and who is playing?
  11. Someone please message me with the big hits of the game and the final play.  Thanks
  12. Regardless of whether or not the refs got it right or wrong in the final two seconds, the Rebels blew an 8 point lead and thats where the accountability lies.  I really dont like it when people just blame the refs without putting it all into context.
  13. Spurger beats Burkeville by 5  Anderson, Rawls, Whittaker dominate boards  Goodrich beats Leggett 7 Friday Spurger beats Goodrich in another classic. Isaacs finds a way way to control Brown and Randolph. No coach better at X' and O's Leggett beats Burkeville
  14. Spurger needs to control the game and that starts in the middle.  I wll take Spurger to win in a dogfight that goes to the last minute of play by three.
  15. The game can always be blamed on the refs however as bad as they may be it is the players who must decide the outcome of this game.  In this case,  Woodville was without their best ball handler Darrin Sells who fouled out with four minutes to play.  At that point, Woodville held the lead.  Over the next four minutes, the Eagles committed 5 turnovers, missed 6 of 9 shots from the floor and converted only 2 of 7 free throws.  Add this to Central converting 7 of 8 from the line and a huge three with 1:11 to play and you have a Woodville loss despite the referees.  Central outscored Woodville 14 to 8 over the final four minutes and earned the win.
  16. Timber Wright - Chester strong all around game.  This team which is primarily underclassmen features just one senior could make some noise in the playoffs.  Come check them out.
  17. I agree with nuthinbutnet.  I have seen Chester play three times this season and they won't win a game but its not as he says for lack of effort and desire.  They never quit until the final buzzer and that's all you can ask of a team.  Hats off to them.
  18. Spurger's opportunity to win rests on whether or not Whittaker plays with a chip on his shoulder.  The Pirates need their big man to step up and play big in the most important game of the season.  Spurger has a great supporting cast around Whittaker.  Whittaker can dominate a game on both ends of the court when he chooses.  The Pirates will need him strong in close and dominant on the board if they want to open opportunities for their other scorers.  Whittaker is the key, he can't be one dimensional if the Pirates are to make the playoffs.  The Pirates record at home is just 4-5 so they will need to come out ready to play.  Let's hope a raucous crowd shows up to root them on to victory.  I say Pirates by seven.
