Mr. Ump1, Runners on first and second no outs. Infield fly is in order. Ball popped up in the infield. Umpire never calls infield fly but signals it with his hand. Does the umpire, by rule, HAVE to verbally call infield fly? Thanks,

Someone hit the problem on the head!  NO RUN SUPPORT!!!  Who is in charge of that?  Batting coach!!!  If Roy was getting run support he would have a winning record.  Put yourself in his shoes with these losses on your record.  It is tarnishing a great career.  They don't put an asterisk by the games you lose with no run support!!!  I wish he would stay but who can blame him and his competitive spirit?

The Astros need to fire/reassign the batting coach!  I know you can't change things overnight.  But this move would show the fans and the players that you are trying to do something!  There are some decent bats there to work with.  Just a little adjustment and you never know!  Create a little run support and maybe your pitchers can stand on the bump and throw their game.
