Something about this just struck me as funny. I don't know if it was the visual of Dan Hooks answering the phone or just imagining what Dan would say to someone over the phone telling him that he was breaking the rules. :D

I've always thought that it was a sign of respect that you didn't do it on the road. Regardless of rules just show a little respect to the other team's field. Thanks to everyone that expressed an opinion, whether we agree or not.

Could be. That's why I created this thread. I wanted to see what other people thought.

I find it interesting that (for the most part) only WOS posters have said that it's not big deal while most everyone else says it's disrespectful. Coincidence? And the argument that you should just show it on the field doesn't hold water. We're supposed to be setting an example for these kids between right and wrong. If it's wrong and disrespectful, then don't do it.

The intent of this thread was not about intimidation, but about respect.

I remember that game. Jasper scored 41 in the 1st quarter of that game. I think the football team stayed on the sidelines during halftime to watch the band.

All I can say is "WOW"!!!

No offense, but Coach Brooks is more concerned with getting better than winning a non-district game...especially considering the district we're in. That said, Newton was the better team...by far. I was just making that suggestion based on the assessment of other posters.

That sounds like a team that has no confidence.

I'll just throw this out there: Maybe Jasper was more concerned with working on different parts of their game than actually winning the game? I don't know. I wasn't there. Then again maybe Jasper just has much further to go than I thought. Good luck the rest of the year Newton.

I think everyone would agree that PNG didn't cause 9 turnovers. They may have caused several, but any time you have that many turnovers, some of them have to be self inflicted.
