Clear Springs won there district.
 2.
What do they feed those guys in manvel, they look like they eat out of a trough, man they got some size!
The kids from Manvel High School are predominately from a huge master planned community (Shadow Creek Ranch) located off of 288 in Pearland in addition to some on the Alvin/Manvel side. They have a lot of kids to chose from. Manvel will definitely be 5A next year.
 3. I will be there on the 50 with the usual suspects......hey Tino are you allowed to bring your vuvuzela?
 4.

The Panther DEFENSE is what's bringing them through the playoffs. Close game, Ozen 21, Lamarque 14. If I remember correctly, Lamarque runs an offense similar to my Pirates.
LM's a spread team.....
Exactly
 5.

I also see LM going deeper.......
Not past round 3...  ;) Y'all do have a big game tonight though!
Lol.....we will see......it would be nice to see another LM v Brenham game.....
Yeah, according to the new coaches. We're going to see a lot more of La Marque's incredible speed being used on both sides of the ball.. So as long as no injuries or self-made pit holes occur, we should be looking at another great season. I'm anxious to see what friendswood and aledo (if we get that far) we have in store for us.
Yeah, his name is Johnathan Gray.
Johnathan Gray is a big factor, no doubt. But the majority of his bust out plays were due to great blocking schemes for Aledo's O-Line, which our old defensive coach didn't know how to counter. I'm sure our new defensive coordinators will have something up their sleeves for such effective running teams as the season goes on. But your right, Johnathan Gray is great. I would love to see the rematch between him and Timothy Wright. It was a straight out brawl the first 3 quarters of the state championship....
I agree.....that was a total breakdown in coaching.....NO adjustments were made.....
 8.
I've just left eh scrimmage.  My major concern is our o-line.  They wouldn't block to save their lives.  LaMarque's D was in our backfield early and often.  They were hitting hard.  Our offense couldn't get a tempo going.  Our defense will be our strong point.  We were hitting hard on Defense as well.  Our D-Line inpressed me.  We did the best we would against an offense with 2 4 year starters.  Those guys are good!  All and all, We did 'ok' to be playing against a State Runner up team.  I look for progress agains a Memorial team that will feature pretty much the same thing we've just seen today.  A good RB with a Good QB.
I thought Wright didnt play today. If so that would be one four year starter (the QB). The RBs you saw were his backups.  ;D

 10. True there are laws related to discussing personnel matters at any place of employment....there are rules that organizations enact themselves that prohibit the discussion on personnel matters......He didnt really say anything in the article that was not common knowledge.....if he discussed the health issues of the coach or something along those lines it would be different........are your school board sessions closed? I think he's talking about the board members' closed session after the general meeting. Gotcha

 12. I didnt get anything bad from the article......aside from two of Vincent's "demands" not being met.....I'm still trying to find out how he handled things badly....
 13. I would like to know the bad things you have heard.....PM me if you have to.......
 14. Same way we do on message boards.......I dont see anything wrong with the statement.....if you were in a position to hire someone and pay them 90k plus a year for a job wouldnt you want to make sure you have the right person.......and not have any reservations about your decision.....
 15. The article has so many angles......the problem was it was said that Vincent DIDNT TEACH much in the PE class....when he was previously at LMISD. The sup wanted to know how he felt about teaching.....i.e. his philosophy on education......LM's problem isnt football....heck I could coach those kids.....but its the education which is way more important than state championships.......stay tuned this will continue to unfold.....
 16. I agree.....Based on previous teams I thought 2006 was a down year.....and LM still won a championship.......
 17. My point exactly. LM has, year in and year out, one of the most athletic teams in the state. LM thrives on athleticism, Nederland on teamwork and smarts. I was under the impression you were saying that LM depends on one star athlete like some other team we have played before. What's so bad about having kids of equal talent waiting once given the opportunity. I see LM as having many athletes at multiple positions that use teamwork and football smarts. The combination is what wins games. Give me an example of LM not having teamwork or football smarts so I can try to understand the point you are trying to make...... Well I can give you one example of the lack of "Football smarts" all the senseless penalties and Lumberton LaMarque playoff game. I would not necessarily say that was a lack of football smarts.....that was lack of discipline on both sides of the ball....and discipline can be lost in the classroom, on the field, or in everyday life.....both teams committed dumb fouls and that doesn't make one action less severe that the other...........
