I just can't respect an opponent that has to lift their mascot from Kansas State. They couldn't even pick one from the great state of Texas. Eagles win in a route, 35-6.

OK. Well what about Georgetown getting their design from the Green Bay Packers? Or the Georgia Bulldogs? Who cares??? What Texas university has Wildcats as their mascot? I guess it just seemed natural to pick Kansas state. Both purple, silver and white and both Wildcats.  8)

We just have our logo from Green Bay and Georgia, we didn't copy everything about them like y'all did KST. And we got Crosby playing for the Packers now, he loves that he didn't have to lose the Georgetown G.

But this ain't about uniforms, Wildcats? More like kitty cats. We're bringin' the fight to ya this weekend. Not gonna be like the cupcakes you saw the first two rounds, I'll promise you that.

Lotta hard talk about stealing from someone who stole his screen name from a well known Kerrville Tivy quote.

It must not be that well known because a quick Google search only comes up with Georgetown, TX references.

All I know is Angelton's a bunch of good for nothing, tea sippin' democrats who ain't never felt the punch of a rifle takin' down an early morning buck 250 yards out. I'll be at the game Saturday, right after I harvest my first deer. Then it's onto Wildcat season...
First of all, that's SWEET TEA. LOL! And after this saturday, your G-String Turkeys will be spending the remainder of the season watching playoff highlights of our games on TV, and you will be free on the weekends for several months. Then you and the team will have time to do all the weekend deer huntin' that you can handle together.  :P :P :P

I feel like we're all on topic here, we're just making our predictions.

I for one, predict that Georgetown is going to make the "sweet tea" sippers of Angleton wish they'd put more funding into their educational programs after we dismantle their football team. Plenty of high schools in the state are lacking in the Arts. Perhaps if you changed your focus your could sweep the Texas HS theater awards. Or maybe y'all should see about building a soccer dynasty.

I find it funny Georgetown is cocky after having one successful season.http://lonestarfootball.net/team.asp?T=1389 . When is the last time y'all have been to the playoffs? Angleton has been having success for the last few years, we know what this game is about, the kids, coaches, and fans know how to prepare for a 3rd round game. So y'all will not have to worry about Angleton getting ready for this type of game. They are use to getting prepared for the 3rd round for the last 5 years.

Like 979 said, Angleton's past playoff experience (coaches and team) will make the difference in the outcome of this one IMO. Hell, a few of the teams coaches are retired NFL players, and one of them (Gardner) earned a Superbowl (XLI) ring while playing for Indianapolis, so they know what it takes to win in this type of situation. We also have the athletes to pull it off.

Hey guys-

I stumbled up on this forum while looking for info on Summer Creek, GT's opponent last week.  I just wanted to drop a quick note and say that the majority of GT fans are not like the ones who've previously posted.

Sure, we're confident in our guys, and hope they win, even expect them to most times... but, we respect what our opponents can do, have done, and know that we'll have to play very well from here on out to earn the right to keep playing.

That said, here's to an injury free, competitive game that's decided on the field by the team who plays the best.

Last thing, I saw some questions in another thread about GT's move to 4A, the enrollment dropped because a second HS opened in GT (EastView).

Go Eagles!

I haven't seen Angleton play this year, but I saw GT play SC last week, and if they let GT's QB have all day to throw as SC did then they will be in trouble. I have to think that Angleton must be pretty good if they were able to beat Ned. They shouldn't have any problem putting points on the board against GT defense even though they have a good defense which is not near as good as Ned's DF, but those little scat recievers running around with a QB having all day to find them could be a problem if they allow it to happen. Since I have not seen Angleton play, What do you Ned fans think (honestly) about the Angleton DF and OF? I would like to know if there is any video on the Ned@Angleton game?

was at ned vs angleton game and they are good and fast. i think angleton will win but if they make mistakes Gt will make them pay. Angleton 31 GT 21
What about their pass defense?
I think they have close to 25 Ints on the year.  If you include forced fumbles they have forced about 40 turnovers this year in 12 games.

    • Starting pitching has been shaky the last few weeks due to some injuries outside of Hagen Smith.  He goes tomorrow, so y’all should be fine
    • Manchin may get it but any mention of the radical left that wanted to get rid of the filibuster and end almost 220 years of history because the Democrats are mad?  The House and Senate are obviously different legislative bodies with entirely different election processes and rules for a reason. The House can vote on laws with a simple majority vote. The Senate put rules in place that it would make it much tougher to pass laws. Laws should be difficult to pass. The Senate is often the holdup of the right and left. It takes 60 votes to break the filibuster so any law will almost certainly require agreement at least in part, from opposing sides of an issue. Because they can’t get laws passed, the radical left is like a baby having a tantrum and wants to change over 200 years of history and make it potentially ridiculously easy to pass laws. I have seen current poll maps and it is possible for the Republicans to sweep into complete power in November but by the tiniest margin. That would possibly mean that a single vote margin in both houses could enact what you might call the radical right laws. There would be nothing that the Democrats could do to stop any legislation whatsoever if the left (they are all radical, minus Manchin) got their filibuster rule changed.  That is where the current filibuster comes into play as any new law would require several Democrats to agree with the majority Republicans and vice versa.  Do you want the potential for your radical right to have free rein as the radical left wants by killing the filibuster or is the radical left just as (if not more) dangerous? Let’s see if we have a history in this area? Oh yeah, the Democrats changed the rules in the Senate to allow federal judges to not have to overcome the filibuster. Obama was not getting his federal judge nominations passed and being angry, they changed the rules instead of nominating more moderate justices. They were warned that it would come back to bite them. They didn’t care and chose the nuclear option to change the rules. Oops! Any guess how Trump got all of his Supreme Court nominees passed against strong Democrat opposition? The Democrats got rid of the filibuster for federal judges after another tantrum   So when you are so worried about the radical right, are you equally concerned in what the radical left is always doing by changing rules and history which were put into place just for situations like we are in? So while Manchin gets it, what about his other 50 colleagues (49 + Harris)?  What concerns you more, Abbott and Paxton or the Democrats who want to make it to where if the Republicans do take over, they can go wild… at least in your mind?
    • MODS please remove that ISD twitter link! I had no idea it would copy the whole posting. I only highlighted the portion about the venue change. Sorry about that!
    • See why I don't trust my Hogs?
    • Come on dude, don’t take anything away from the kids on the field. If you want to talk uncharacteristic, we made what 3 or 4 errors in game one. Y’all had 2 EARNED runs.  Defense is normally our strong suit. Your ace didn’t strike out a single one of our kids. Like I said also, you did not out hit us in game 1. Hell you barley out hit us in game 2. We had all the uncharacteristic walks. Josh pitched a hell of a game is what made that game what it was.
