If 1A H-D is able to go 2-0 vs two 2A teams, that is pretty good. Beating bigger schools is a good thing. It's funny to me when people tell you all week you are gonna get beat, then you win and they say well you didn't beat nobody good. lol. I believe this game will be close, Kountze has a ton of speed and HD has a well oiled disciplined team unit. I believe turnovers will decide the game. I really enjoyed watching the swarming team defense of the Bobcats last week. Book ends Ken Lavalais and Kyle Hopkins are huge and strong at 6'3 230lbs and 6'3 250lbs. Darrell Lavalais and Tyler Drake are both head hunters at linebacker. Hill and Welch both are hawks in the secondary. Big Chris Taylor at 6'0 280lbs and Thomas Stanley 6'0 250lbs are beast on the line. H-D has some strong and powerful players. The offensive line fires off the line and opens good holes. Our speed may not be the fastest, but our players are disciplined and take aggressive good angles to the ball. Friday night will be fun to watch, I pray both teams stay healthy. Go Bobcats!

I think if Kountze can throw the ball then H-D might be in trouble. The secondary is a little undersized. If hardin would've stuck with the passing game they may have scored a few more TD's.
But with that being said i think HD win's this game against Kountze in a close one, i just don't see the offense HD runs blowing anyone out.

[/quote]Hill and Welch are solid corners. We will be ok. Ball hawks! That Hardin TD pass was perfectly thrown and caught.

I love the fact so many give this game to HD Nation. Watched our kids today for a bit and they are the most talented group of kids Kountze has seen in years. If Kountze does not win Friday night than I am going be so surprised and disappointed. Plus I will feel so bad for these kids because they are good. My personal gut feeling is Kountze will win. I think they will have some stuggles because things are still new and they are adjusting. In the end Kountze Lions will hit and hit hard and the speed; you guys are in for a treat. If you are real football fans, then you just have respect the package! Good luck HD Nation because the pride is hungry and is coming to feed.

I have to agree with king...this is not Hardin and when Hardin plays Kountze they will The HD Nation back. Look guys this is simple HD may have some size but they are slow overall. Kountze flys around and will light your tail up! Had a friend on the Shepherd sideline and he said those kids were banged up...(but they had a ton heart). Seen film on HD as well and they are good size kids but not fast. Around the ends and over the top is the offensive game and on the defensive side, continue the gang tackle drill. Kountze wins! 35 - 14

HD coaches may want to mentally and physically prepare their team for Friday night.  It will be a rough game.  It will be fun...atleast for Kountze. Coach Franklin pushes these kids harder and harder each week. We will not get beat because we don't have gas left in the tank. We do need to get control of the personal fouls on the defense. Not saying its right but a little of that can be expected with such an aggressive bunch of kids!

    • We'll see. I don't trust us.
    • Starting pitching has been shaky the last few weeks due to some injuries outside of Hagen Smith.  He goes tomorrow, so y’all should be fine
    • Manchin may get it but any mention of the radical left that wanted to get rid of the filibuster and end almost 220 years of history because the Democrats are mad?  The House and Senate are obviously different legislative bodies with entirely different election processes and rules for a reason. The House can vote on laws with a simple majority vote. The Senate put rules in place that it would make it much tougher to pass laws. Laws should be difficult to pass. The Senate is often the holdup of the right and left. It takes 60 votes to break the filibuster so any law will almost certainly require agreement at least in part, from opposing sides of an issue. Because they can’t get laws passed, the radical left is like a baby having a tantrum and wants to change over 200 years of history and make it potentially ridiculously easy to pass laws. I have seen current poll maps and it is possible for the Republicans to sweep into complete power in November but by the tiniest margin. That would possibly mean that a single vote margin in both houses could enact what you might call the radical right laws. There would be nothing that the Democrats could do to stop any legislation whatsoever if the left (they are all radical, minus Manchin) got their filibuster rule changed.  That is where the current filibuster comes into play as any new law would require several Democrats to agree with the majority Republicans and vice versa.  Do you want the potential for your radical right to have free rein as the radical left wants by killing the filibuster or is the radical left just as (if not more) dangerous? Let’s see if we have a history in this area? Oh yeah, the Democrats changed the rules in the Senate to allow federal judges to not have to overcome the filibuster. Obama was not getting his federal judge nominations passed and being angry, they changed the rules instead of nominating more moderate justices. They were warned that it would come back to bite them. They didn’t care and chose the nuclear option to change the rules. Oops! Any guess how Trump got all of his Supreme Court nominees passed against strong Democrat opposition? The Democrats got rid of the filibuster for federal judges after another tantrum   So when you are so worried about the radical right, are you equally concerned in what the radical left is always doing by changing rules and history which were put into place just for situations like we are in? So while Manchin gets it, what about his other 50 colleagues (49 + Harris)?  What concerns you more, Abbott and Paxton or the Democrats who want to make it to where if the Republicans do take over, they can go wild… at least in your mind?
    • MODS please remove that ISD twitter link! I had no idea it would copy the whole posting. I only highlighted the portion about the venue change. Sorry about that!
