1. 2001 Ozen Panthers - Too much depth, too much Perk

2. 1991 HJ Hawks - Way too big for that Kountze team, could score with the best of them

3. 1995 PA Lincoln Bees - Too much Stevie Wonder (Jackson) for the Panthers here...team was unbeaten with Jackson in uniform that season.

4. 1968 Kirbyville Wildcats - Before my time, but going with the old school on this one!

5. 1985 Silsbee Tigers - Easy one...That 95 Silsbee team was solid, with Bush and Co., but the 85 squad had a Mickey D's All American nominee that was the real deal in Darrel MacArthur...going old skool again! ;)

Throw in some old Buna teams and those are some of the best teams this area has ever produced.

The best matchup that I would like to see is a re-match between the P.A. Lincoln '81 and Hebert '81.
That was my senior year Lincoln.
They played four times that year and went 2-2 against each other and both won the State Championship.
Lincoln won the 5A State Championship, and Hebert won the 4A State Championship.
In fact, we had a combined State Championship party in Austin together for both teams.
Now that would be a classic

How was that team lucky? Its not like they hit that shot every game to go to state. 30-7 is far from lucky

id like to see the 2007 HJ hawks  vs the 2005 Kountze lions
The 03 Lions were the best Kountze team IMO
they were stacked that year. i agree with you there.

i didnt see much of the 03 kountze team, but i saw alot of both the 05 kountze and 07 hj teams and they had alot of simillarities. would be an interesting matchup

    • What the writer stated wrt crossover votes in the primary/runoff: "Covey and his supporters Paxton and Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick said Phelan only won because Democrats crossed over to vote in the Republican Primary for him. Paxton said Covey’s campaign identified “at least” 1,442 Democrats who voted early in Jefferson County in the primary runoff. Texas does not have party registration, but a voter’s primary voting history is public. The Covey campaign has not released its methodology behind its claim, but  This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up  by The Texan news website found that 9% of Republican voters in the March District 21 primary had voted in one of the previous four Democratic primaries. However, only 5% of that group had voted in all four previous Democratic primaries. What Phelan’s opponents did not mention is historically Democratic Jefferson County is undergoing a political transition towards the Republican party — the county judge switched his affiliation to the GOP in 2017 — so many residents have a mixed primary voting history. And Phelan’s allies in the House dismissed the idea that liberals swung the election. "I knocked on doors, hundreds and hundreds of doors, made calls for Dade,” Republican Rep. Jeff Leach, R-Plano, said on Mark Davis’ radio program Wednesday. “I did not speak to a single Democrat down here in HD21. Not a single one." "
