AshlyHasBeen Posted August 3, 2011 Report Posted August 3, 2011 Not going to point out any schools over the years but I know for a fact I have seen hand pads on opening days before pads were put on the players.

kicker Posted August 3, 2011 Report Posted August 3, 2011 Here is my take on this.....Yes, the UIL has certain rules on FULL pads. That wasnt FULL pads. It was to protect the players in a drill. We need to remember that this is a contact sport and the kids need to be protected even in the first week. I personally think the pads rule is dumb. The whole point is to protect the kids. If you look at the clip, the dummys were used to just protect the player and the person holding it. And on the thighpad comment, most of the new underarmour has foam built into the shorts and shirts these kids wear. its not like they were doing tackling drills. Protecting the kids should be number 1!
Kville_Kats Posted August 3, 2011 Report Posted August 3, 2011 Let's see..hmmmmm with Jasper out,that only leaves Center,Diboll and Huntington...Come onnnnnnnnnnnnnn UIL... ;D ;D ;) >>>> (JK)

liltex Posted August 3, 2011 Report Posted August 3, 2011 Just saying about pads, ever slide across 130 degree art.turf @ full speed.Lawd I'm glad we had grass. If I'd been on turf back in the day & took my helmet off after sliding I'd look like Don King on a bad hairday :D
rykerx144 Posted August 3, 2011 Report Posted August 3, 2011 He simply just posted a thread with one question Did jasper break UIL rules? and then provided a link to the video!! Thats all he posted and that was it! You people are reading way too much into this. I didnt post anything just simply admitted that I told him about it in a PM! I think the irony here is that the ones trying to defend it are actually making it out to be bigger than it is! Geez
AggiesAreWe Posted August 3, 2011 Author Report Posted August 3, 2011 Honestly, I just wanted everyone's take on if they thought or felt if any rules had been broken. If indeed what was shown in the video is a rules infraction, then the UIL needs to lighten up.BTW, the UIL was informed of this long before I posted this thread. Hey, I take the good with the bad with this job.
