I would say, the young men that devote their lives to football, their family and friends, coaches, school staff, alumni. That's who cares. Be sure and tell us what distrct your in so when your district thread opens up we can get on and say who could possibly care about this district.  Get a clue

Gentlemen (and ladies), just a reminder. Any use of profanity is prohibited, even if it is masked.

And another, if ya' don't care about a subject opened in a thread...don't read it.  I think we have enough topics here to catch everyone's interest....you don't have to read them all!

I believe this is still one of the most competitive districts in the state, possibility the most.
With that being said, any one the top 5, Anahuac Buna, East Chambers, Newton, or Woodville have a chance at the playoffs. As far as the top 3, I have
1. Buna
2. Anahuac
3. Woodville
Time for new beginnings in this district.
I only got one more thing to say. ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL!!!!!!!!!

After two years of very poor defensive performances, Newton will regain the top spot after WT takes the reins of the defense. That places Anahuac second and third place should come down between EC, Woodville, and Buna. Hardin, Warren, and Kountze will complete the district standings. Warren could make some noise and possibly play spoiler this year, but it may take a couple more years to complete a turn around.

You people are crazy if you dont believe that Newton will be back on top.

1. Newton  (no doubt! with no district loses).
2. Anahuac
3. East Chambers
4 Woodville
5. Buna
6. Hardin
7. Kountze
8. Warren

Can't be back on top when they've never been on top to begin with - at least not in this newly formed district.  My prediction:

1) Anahuac
2) Woodville
3) Newton / EC

I guarantee all the teams in district will face a defense from Newton that has not been there the past two years. May not have been on top of this district alignment, but all the teams in this district will be chasing Newton this year. Once again the Eagles will have team speed and a renewed desire to continue the longstanding winning tradition. Go Eagles!!

Newton will be back on top again this may be a new alignment and all but all these teams know that was not a typical Newton team that has been on the field past two seasons. Newton will regain its right place at the top of the district and I just don't see them finishing third this season with the group of players they have this season. This team is talented enough to win another state title for the Newton Eagles

Umm ok. Kountze lost their top player and didnt gain anyone. i dont agree with that. I think the top 4 is a toss up between 4 great teams. Kountze will be down from a team that was not very good last year. Itll be a good game with them and warren. Hardin will be down, but not enough to lose to kountze and especially warren. But the top 4 is a toss up between Anahuac, Woodville, Newton, and EC.

    • We'll see. I don't trust us.
    • Starting pitching has been shaky the last few weeks due to some injuries outside of Hagen Smith.  He goes tomorrow, so y’all should be fine
    • Manchin may get it but any mention of the radical left that wanted to get rid of the filibuster and end almost 220 years of history because the Democrats are mad?  The House and Senate are obviously different legislative bodies with entirely different election processes and rules for a reason. The House can vote on laws with a simple majority vote. The Senate put rules in place that it would make it much tougher to pass laws. Laws should be difficult to pass. The Senate is often the holdup of the right and left. It takes 60 votes to break the filibuster so any law will almost certainly require agreement at least in part, from opposing sides of an issue. Because they can’t get laws passed, the radical left is like a baby having a tantrum and wants to change over 200 years of history and make it potentially ridiculously easy to pass laws. I have seen current poll maps and it is possible for the Republicans to sweep into complete power in November but by the tiniest margin. That would possibly mean that a single vote margin in both houses could enact what you might call the radical right laws. There would be nothing that the Democrats could do to stop any legislation whatsoever if the left (they are all radical, minus Manchin) got their filibuster rule changed.  That is where the current filibuster comes into play as any new law would require several Democrats to agree with the majority Republicans and vice versa.  Do you want the potential for your radical right to have free rein as the radical left wants by killing the filibuster or is the radical left just as (if not more) dangerous? Let’s see if we have a history in this area? Oh yeah, the Democrats changed the rules in the Senate to allow federal judges to not have to overcome the filibuster. Obama was not getting his federal judge nominations passed and being angry, they changed the rules instead of nominating more moderate justices. They were warned that it would come back to bite them. They didn’t care and chose the nuclear option to change the rules. Oops! Any guess how Trump got all of his Supreme Court nominees passed against strong Democrat opposition? The Democrats got rid of the filibuster for federal judges after another tantrum   So when you are so worried about the radical right, are you equally concerned in what the radical left is always doing by changing rules and history which were put into place just for situations like we are in? So while Manchin gets it, what about his other 50 colleagues (49 + Harris)?  What concerns you more, Abbott and Paxton or the Democrats who want to make it to where if the Republicans do take over, they can go wild… at least in your mind?
    • MODS please remove that ISD twitter link! I had no idea it would copy the whole posting. I only highlighted the portion about the venue change. Sorry about that!
