I was talking to someone at the state title game here Saturday about Gray. says he's the best RB he's ever seen out of the DFW area  :o
He's the best RB that I've ever seen....Incredible balance, speed, power, and vision.....he's the complete back!
Better than Nance (Trinity) or Luna (SLC) or Da'Bryan Blanton (Forney)?
Yes, better than all three of them....

Nance was probably the closest to him
Luna was great, but he had such a great team around him that teams couldn't focus on him
Blanton is still the fastest football player that I've ever seen...unreal speed!

Hate to disapoint all you Aledo fans but Aledo almost got spanked by Poteet ? And Poteet's  QB played with a bad leg the whole 2nd half and they are'nt nearly as stacked as LM Aledo might win but I would'nt bet the bank on it !
How does a team win a game and almost get "spanked" at the same time?

the fact that they can even do that speaks to how good Aledo truly is.  :D

Haven't seen Aledo live so I'll be guessing.
1.  All the talk about J Gray who looks pretty good on film.  Not sure he'll even be the best rb on the field for this game though.
2.  LM has been able to stop the run without loading the box....can they do that against Aledo?

Don't see this being a blowout for either side.

Gray will get his yards....the kid is a beast!  How is LM's RB doing?  I heard he was banged up a little.

couple bad ankles and I've heard a fractured heal.

I think he is getting stronger though. Looked good to me on the video from Calallen. I think he'll get his as well. You saw he was on the 1st team all-state apse team too. This should be a heck of a game. That LM D is tough. Aledo will have to be diverse.... which I know they are more than capable.

Here's where I don't know enough about Aledo...LM has the talent on defense to stop Gray straight up without any gimmicks, not saying they will but....if they do does Aledo have enough other options on offense to still win.  Aledo could completely shut down Tim Wright and still give up 50.

No,we do not have anyone else on our team except for Gray.  We are very one dimensional.  But please, make sure you do not let anyone from La Marque know this!

This is true, I didn't see any other threats last year.  (yes i'm aware that Bishop was hurt) They scored 5 TD's on us, 4 of them were by Gray. (3 of those were on runs of 20+) The defense was very good however, but they were very one dimensional on offense.  Only thing is, that one dimension is very good.

Interesting claim -- that LM will put up 50 on Aledo "even if Wright is shut down."  Especially interesting since I believe the most points LM scored in a game this year was 48. BTW, Aledo and LM have comparable rushing and passing yards per game -- Aledo averages about 30 more rushing yards per game and 30 more total yards per game.

Looking forward to seeing Wright haul the rock at Jerry World.  Hope both teams play well and we have an injury free game.  Safe travel to all.

    • We'll see. I don't trust us.
    • Starting pitching has been shaky the last few weeks due to some injuries outside of Hagen Smith.  He goes tomorrow, so y’all should be fine
    • Manchin may get it but any mention of the radical left that wanted to get rid of the filibuster and end almost 220 years of history because the Democrats are mad?  The House and Senate are obviously different legislative bodies with entirely different election processes and rules for a reason. The House can vote on laws with a simple majority vote. The Senate put rules in place that it would make it much tougher to pass laws. Laws should be difficult to pass. The Senate is often the holdup of the right and left. It takes 60 votes to break the filibuster so any law will almost certainly require agreement at least in part, from opposing sides of an issue. Because they can’t get laws passed, the radical left is like a baby having a tantrum and wants to change over 200 years of history and make it potentially ridiculously easy to pass laws. I have seen current poll maps and it is possible for the Republicans to sweep into complete power in November but by the tiniest margin. That would possibly mean that a single vote margin in both houses could enact what you might call the radical right laws. There would be nothing that the Democrats could do to stop any legislation whatsoever if the left (they are all radical, minus Manchin) got their filibuster rule changed.  That is where the current filibuster comes into play as any new law would require several Democrats to agree with the majority Republicans and vice versa.  Do you want the potential for your radical right to have free rein as the radical left wants by killing the filibuster or is the radical left just as (if not more) dangerous? Let’s see if we have a history in this area? Oh yeah, the Democrats changed the rules in the Senate to allow federal judges to not have to overcome the filibuster. Obama was not getting his federal judge nominations passed and being angry, they changed the rules instead of nominating more moderate justices. They were warned that it would come back to bite them. They didn’t care and chose the nuclear option to change the rules. Oops! Any guess how Trump got all of his Supreme Court nominees passed against strong Democrat opposition? The Democrats got rid of the filibuster for federal judges after another tantrum   So when you are so worried about the radical right, are you equally concerned in what the radical left is always doing by changing rules and history which were put into place just for situations like we are in? So while Manchin gets it, what about his other 50 colleagues (49 + Harris)?  What concerns you more, Abbott and Paxton or the Democrats who want to make it to where if the Republicans do take over, they can go wild… at least in your mind?
    • MODS please remove that ISD twitter link! I had no idea it would copy the whole posting. I only highlighted the portion about the venue change. Sorry about that!
