Looks like a very good weekend of football on the senior scene. A lot of playoff berths will be earned or lost this Saturday. Im picking Port Neches Purple to take out BC, Nederland teams will win, Vidor has a cakewalk. Little Cypress will hand Beaumont another loss and Lumberton Blue will take it to the overrated Stangs.

I like the picks Coach Mike, but I think Queenb may have some words of wisdom for you when she sees "overated stangs"
[/quote]

OH MY, you got that one right!  "overated stangs" you say?  Have you seen them play?  I do believe that I heard that Lumberton was going to kick our rears last weekend; however, oh my, did you notice that we beat them?  Even though they played dirty, we BEAT THEM!  We are not overated, we are just that good!

I tell you what, I am always on the sidelines at every game.  You really can't miss me -- I'm the loudmouth cheering for my son.  I will even tell you what I will be wearing: blue jeans and a Dallas Cowboy Jersey with the #79 on the back and QueenB over that number.  Look for me.  Take a picture.  Do whatever you want but don't call us "overated".  I just think it is funny, and sad, when adults get on here and talk trash about my boys; must be jealousy!  Date hate us cause we good; just watch and appreciate our skills!

simple: what I said is the truth.  At last weeks game, they played dirty by grabbing several of the players UNDER the facemask; my son was one of them.  If that is not playing dirty then please tell me what is.  as Far as the coaching; we must have something good because we are undefeated so far this season.

P.S.

Raiderboy: you can thank me personally right here, right now, for telling the gentleman from your side that I would take care of picking up the trash along our side.  How many parents of the opposing team would offer to do that?  See, even though I saw the pushing, facemasking, grabbing my kids throat under the helmet, I still cleaned the field up.  THAT is called showing good attitude wouldn't you say?

fortunately for wos they have no one in there conference to contend with, with the exception of a descent vidor team. so they win thier  conference handsdown. on the otherhand the other conference has three teams that can contend for the championship. lum blue, png purple and bc.  conference title on the line tommorow in bc at 3:30 going to be a great gm between two good teams, but bc takes it and rides its momentum all the way to the superbowl wos vs. bc 2010 stjfl superbowl with bc winning it all. just my opinon no disrespect to anyone.

WOW,
What happened to the undefeted WOS, looks like Lumberton Blue took them out! What about them Lumberton Blue Raiders, Coach Mike must have been right.

Everyone has an off week.  I do want to say one good thing: I don't know who the older coach is for Lumberton; I assume it was the head coach; but as I was treking across the field with seats, baby supplies, and basically had my hands full, I passed by our kids in the middle of the field and heard the gentleman talking to our kids and commenting on what a good game they played.  I thought that was 100% classy and if you are on here reading this: THANK YOU.  If he isn't on here, and someone is here who knows who I am talking about, please let him know that as a parent, I appreciate his words.

Was busy during the game due to my 5 month old grandson was there too to support his Uncle Gary.  I was trying to "be calm" so as to  not upset him.  I watched some of the game; passed out cold drinks to the players at other times; took pictures both on and off the field; and yes, the weather was NICE!  Mosquitos started kinda bugging me as the sun was setting but all in all, win or lose, my Mustangs are still #1 in my book.  We'll come back and win again; you can count on it!

BTW: I always have people coming up to me during the games to introduce themselves.  Please don't hesitate to do so if you see me.  I really am just a mom who loves the sport and the kids that play; mine or yours, they are still just kids and I love them all.

Bye!

The key to the WOS-LUM game was the Raider coaches and players being able to make the necessary adjustment.  Like most teams, the Mustangs trot out their biggest boys as captains to get a jump on intimidation.  I think it worked.  WOS came out strong, as they always do, and marched down the field to score.  It looked like it could get ugly for the Raiders.  Then Lumberton came out and set the tone for the rest of the game.  The unfamiliar feeling of trailing for WOS was just too much.  Its hard to come back when you've never had to before.  Both teams played really good football.

The officials did appear like they could have been extras on Keystone Cops, but the outcome of this game was up to the kids, not the guys in stripes.

BTW, I laughed when Coach Mike was referred to as "the old[er] guy".  :D

Was that Coach Mike who came up to our kids and talked to them on the field?  Dang, if I had known it I would have introduced myself!

and ummm, my son was one of the players that WOS chose to "trot out their biggest boys as captains to get a jump on intimidation".  That kid is 11 years old and taller then I am!!!!

Next time, tell Coach Mike, and anyone else who is on this board, to introduce himself/herself to me.  I'm harmless -- really!!!  ::)

    • We'll see. I don't trust us.
    • Starting pitching has been shaky the last few weeks due to some injuries outside of Hagen Smith.  He goes tomorrow, so y’all should be fine
    • Manchin may get it but any mention of the radical left that wanted to get rid of the filibuster and end almost 220 years of history because the Democrats are mad?  The House and Senate are obviously different legislative bodies with entirely different election processes and rules for a reason. The House can vote on laws with a simple majority vote. The Senate put rules in place that it would make it much tougher to pass laws. Laws should be difficult to pass. The Senate is often the holdup of the right and left. It takes 60 votes to break the filibuster so any law will almost certainly require agreement at least in part, from opposing sides of an issue. Because they can’t get laws passed, the radical left is like a baby having a tantrum and wants to change over 200 years of history and make it potentially ridiculously easy to pass laws. I have seen current poll maps and it is possible for the Republicans to sweep into complete power in November but by the tiniest margin. That would possibly mean that a single vote margin in both houses could enact what you might call the radical right laws. There would be nothing that the Democrats could do to stop any legislation whatsoever if the left (they are all radical, minus Manchin) got their filibuster rule changed.  That is where the current filibuster comes into play as any new law would require several Democrats to agree with the majority Republicans and vice versa.  Do you want the potential for your radical right to have free rein as the radical left wants by killing the filibuster or is the radical left just as (if not more) dangerous? Let’s see if we have a history in this area? Oh yeah, the Democrats changed the rules in the Senate to allow federal judges to not have to overcome the filibuster. Obama was not getting his federal judge nominations passed and being angry, they changed the rules instead of nominating more moderate justices. They were warned that it would come back to bite them. They didn’t care and chose the nuclear option to change the rules. Oops! Any guess how Trump got all of his Supreme Court nominees passed against strong Democrat opposition? The Democrats got rid of the filibuster for federal judges after another tantrum   So when you are so worried about the radical right, are you equally concerned in what the radical left is always doing by changing rules and history which were put into place just for situations like we are in? So while Manchin gets it, what about his other 50 colleagues (49 + Harris)?  What concerns you more, Abbott and Paxton or the Democrats who want to make it to where if the Republicans do take over, they can go wild… at least in your mind?
    • MODS please remove that ISD twitter link! I had no idea it would copy the whole posting. I only highlighted the portion about the venue change. Sorry about that!
