Parker to play at UT before Felts

Recommended Posts

Early in the year the thread "who is the best catcher" came down to parker and felts with felts having been promoted alot more than parker can anyone else see the irony??  Parker when asked always seemed to stay humble and lead his team.. now that felts season is over and having the opurtunity to watch both young men head to head, Parker is the best catcher in southeast texas..

You must have been watching different games than most of us.  Parker may have a slight edge in hitting, although Felts had his fair share of hits in that series, Felts is a much better defensive catcher.  Better pop, stronger arm, and had zero past balls!!

If they both are going to UT we will find out who is better in time.
They're not both going to UT.... I think he means Parker will play at UT for the state tourney.  Felts is already A Longhorn.  Parker should be just fine wherever he goes.

Too bad the state tournament is at Dell Diamond and not Disch-Faulk Field. Felts is the best catcher hands down!

A slight edge in hitting? not even close....did you see the past balls you have to hang those on sowell.

Parker had the best display of hitting I've seen in awhile against BC, in the Orangefield series Felts was the best player on the field imo.
Silly argument that will never be settled...not everyone falls in line that only these two should be considered for "best catcher in Southeast Texas."  I do however wish both success at the next level(s).

Absolutely agree with you with your statement about Parker.....  However, IMO I think more pitchers use more caution while pitching to Felts IMO...

This is so unprovable on both sides...I will just inject one comment.....When Sophomore Matt Menard knocked a HR up at the Woodville field(when BC beat Jasper 10-5)  That 400+ slam was enough to convince me he will out-do anyone in 3A next season in the Catcher position.

An ole timer from Woodville said it was the longest hit ball over that fence that he had ever seen---and that he had watched games there for decades!   ;D

I agree it is pointless and T-daddy is just trying to stir the pot, but I have to give Felts his props.

I don't know, all I saw Parker do was wave a towel in the dugout.  Kind of strange to me.

If you do not know Jacob, I would suggest you keep your opinion about his leadership abilities to yourself. Some people lead by example and let the young ladies with skirts do the cheerleading.

    • Manchin may get it but any mention of the radical left that wanted to get rid of the filibuster and end almost 220 years of history because the Democrats are mad?  The House and Senate are obviously different legislative bodies with entirely different election processes and rules for a reason. The House can vote on laws with a simple majority vote. The Senate put rules in place that it would make it much tougher to pass laws. Laws should be difficult to pass. The Senate is often the holdup of the right and left. It takes 60 votes to break the filibuster so any law will almost certainly require agreement at least in part, from opposing sides of an issue. Because they can’t get laws passed, the radical left is like a baby having a tantrum and wants to change over 200 years of history and make it potentially ridiculously easy to pass laws. I have seen current poll maps and it is possible for the Republicans to sweep into complete power in November but by the tiniest margin. That would possibly mean that a single vote margin in both houses could enact what you might call the radical right laws. There would be nothing that the Democrats could do to stop any legislation whatsoever if the left (they are all radical, minus Manchin) got their filibuster rule changed.  That is where the current filibuster comes into play as any new law would require several Democrats to agree with the majority Republicans and vice versa.  Do you want the potential for your radical right to have free rein as the radical left wants by killing the filibuster or is the radical left just as (if not more) dangerous? Let’s see if we have a history in this area? Oh yeah, the Democrats changed the rules in the Senate to allow federal judges to not have to overcome the filibuster. Obama was not getting his federal judge nominations passed and being angry, they changed the rules instead of nominating more moderate justices. They were warned that it would come back to bite them. They didn’t care and chose the nuclear option to change the rules. Oops! Any guess how Trump got all of his Supreme Court nominees passed against strong Democrat opposition? The Democrats got rid of the filibuster for federal judges after another tantrum   So when you are so worried about the radical right, are you equally concerned in what the radical left is always doing by changing rules and history which were put into place just for situations like we are in? So while Manchin gets it, what about his other 50 colleagues (49 + Harris)?  What concerns you more, Abbott and Paxton or the Democrats who want to make it to where if the Republicans do take over, they can go wild… at least in your mind?
    • MODS please remove that ISD twitter link! I had no idea it would copy the whole posting. I only highlighted the portion about the venue change. Sorry about that!

    • Come on dude, don’t take anything away from the kids on the field. If you want to talk uncharacteristic, we made what 3 or 4 errors in game one. Y’all had 2 EARNED runs.  Defense is normally our strong suit. Your ace didn’t strike out a single one of our kids. Like I said also, you did not out hit us in game 1. Hell you barley out hit us in game 2. We had all the uncharacteristic walks. Josh pitched a hell of a game is what made that game what it was.
