Who did Vidor Hire?

They did not renew her contract. It is one of the dumbest things the administration at Vidor has done. Not only did she have the program headed in the right direction she was also a good coach. I enjoyed watching her coach.  >:(

I can't speak for all the kids but the majority of the kids liked Coach Arbuckle. So did her peers. She is a person you could not help but like. She just had that way about her. She is special. Good luck coach you are probably better off. Look at this way coach, maybe now you can go to a school where they(Administration) supports girls basketball and have a youth program.

Didn't the volleyball coach used to coach basketball? Is she a possibility or did they already hire someone?

The kids I know from Vidor all seemed to like playing for Coach Arbuckle.  I always liked this coach, but gained even more respect for her 2 years ago.  Two seasons ago Vidor went through the entire district season without a win.  Vidors final district game of the year was against LCM.  Vidor was down by double digits late in the 4th and Coach Arbuckle was still about 8 feet out on the court (as she usually was) coaching, teaching, and pushing her girls to get better.  This season, if Vidor would have beaten LCM in the last district game...they would have forced a "play in" game for a playoff spot.  I feel like she was turning the corner for the Vidor girls program.  Sorry to see her go.

they have the upward basketball program for basketball. there is a very active softball league. there is a soccer league i think based in orange. for volleyball, they have some summer camps...not sure about anything else. vidor just added a swim team to the high school and they have a youth swim team for the younger kids.

My point was someone said soemthing about Jr. High sports, but it's hard to learn the game when you start in 7th grade, seems the little leagues they compete in aren't really teaching  fundamentals, a coach should always REVIEW that in practice, but it's hard to teach it at that age.

The youth soccer program is an organization run by Clint Brasher and Chad LaPray.  They have several different teams...boys and girls at different ages.  They all play out of Beaumont and/or tournaments.
[/quote]my bad...i thought it was out of orange. i know that the soccer org is run the right way and the kids get great teaching. i've never been involved, but i know vidor's soccer is definitely on the upswing.

wow...i got whacked/censored. i guess no more talk about the state of girls' junior high athletics in vidor. on a side note, whoever does get the job will have a definite stud/studette? player on his/her team. the richmond girl is the shiznizzle and was only a freshman this year. she can shoot the rock and run with anybody...great athlete.

    • We'll see. I don't trust us.
    • Starting pitching has been shaky the last few weeks due to some injuries outside of Hagen Smith.  He goes tomorrow, so y’all should be fine
    • Manchin may get it but any mention of the radical left that wanted to get rid of the filibuster and end almost 220 years of history because the Democrats are mad?  The House and Senate are obviously different legislative bodies with entirely different election processes and rules for a reason. The House can vote on laws with a simple majority vote. The Senate put rules in place that it would make it much tougher to pass laws. Laws should be difficult to pass. The Senate is often the holdup of the right and left. It takes 60 votes to break the filibuster so any law will almost certainly require agreement at least in part, from opposing sides of an issue. Because they can’t get laws passed, the radical left is like a baby having a tantrum and wants to change over 200 years of history and make it potentially ridiculously easy to pass laws. I have seen current poll maps and it is possible for the Republicans to sweep into complete power in November but by the tiniest margin. That would possibly mean that a single vote margin in both houses could enact what you might call the radical right laws. There would be nothing that the Democrats could do to stop any legislation whatsoever if the left (they are all radical, minus Manchin) got their filibuster rule changed.  That is where the current filibuster comes into play as any new law would require several Democrats to agree with the majority Republicans and vice versa.  Do you want the potential for your radical right to have free rein as the radical left wants by killing the filibuster or is the radical left just as (if not more) dangerous? Let’s see if we have a history in this area? Oh yeah, the Democrats changed the rules in the Senate to allow federal judges to not have to overcome the filibuster. Obama was not getting his federal judge nominations passed and being angry, they changed the rules instead of nominating more moderate justices. They were warned that it would come back to bite them. They didn’t care and chose the nuclear option to change the rules. Oops! Any guess how Trump got all of his Supreme Court nominees passed against strong Democrat opposition? The Democrats got rid of the filibuster for federal judges after another tantrum   So when you are so worried about the radical right, are you equally concerned in what the radical left is always doing by changing rules and history which were put into place just for situations like we are in? So while Manchin gets it, what about his other 50 colleagues (49 + Harris)?  What concerns you more, Abbott and Paxton or the Democrats who want to make it to where if the Republicans do take over, they can go wild… at least in your mind?
    • MODS please remove that ISD twitter link! I had no idea it would copy the whole posting. I only highlighted the portion about the venue change. Sorry about that!
