Thanks for posting this on NBR's thread!! CLASSY!!!!  Geez!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
nice job bullying a girl. i don't think nbr owns this thread. don't be so touchy. there are multiple leagues with all ages of kids in this area. people are gonna pick for themselves anyway. i don't think nbr is gonna have problems getting kids this year. all of the annexing stuff is kinda stupid anyway. there have been kids from orange county playing at nbr for years.
Orange County kids have been playing Sr. Babe Ruth(16-18) for years.  "Little" Babe Ruth(13-15) was always limited to Jefferson County residents only.
I am the Player Agent & I can guarantee that we have had no BC kids play in the 13-15 yr old league.  We had several requests last year & had to expand our boundaries with headquarters in order to allow them to play this year.  You may thinking of the Senior league for ages 16-18 yr olds, but not our league.

No, this has been about ten years ago, but the players listed, played with my son. There were some players from Lumberton too, but I can't recall their names.

The Shumaker kid that I left off his first name is Jeremy...
Good to know...I wasn't around 10 yrs ago.  I have a 14 yr old that is trying out for the freshman high school team today.  I'm hoping his experience playing on the bigger Babe Ruth field will help him in playing high school ball this year.

Actually, it was closer to eight years ago. It's hard to remember all the kids, but some names just stick with you. Babe Ruth Baseball is something the kids will always remember...the parents too.
Yes, my son was on the 13 yr old all star team that went to Regionals last year.  As I'm sure you know, he stayed with a host family & the dad was a former pro that played with the Yankees...he even gave the kids one of his stamped & autographed bats.  Definitely an experience my son will never forget!

We still correspond with a host family from Virginia. They were great. My son went there to play in the World Series, but we came up short. Now that was the Senior Babe Ruth team.

Good luck to your son. There is nothing quite like being a ''ballpark junkie''.  ;D

spoonbill, I see no bullying in that post. He was just astonished that the NBR thread was a little hijacked for another league. Actually, in all your posts on this thread, I sense some anger and spite towards NBR. Do you have a problem with Nederland Babe Ruth? Really, this thread is all about kids who want to play some great baseball with kids from all over the area. What can anyone not like about that?
no anger or spite. i do find it interesting that there was "several requests" from b.c. for the 13-14 yr olds last year when b.c. little league had 6 teams of kids that age. maybe the requests were from the yr before when the other league in b.c. for that age was in trouble. i know the city of b.c. really support that little league. it just surprises me that they had so many requests. there is no anger towards nbr here. i've been affiliated with a league for many yrs and wish them all the best. it's a thankless hard job running a youth league, but the pay is good. ;) maybe a hamburger here and there. all kids should get a taste of the big field before they get to high school... it's night and day. i believe all of the leagues for kids 13 and above are on a regulation high school field.

There were a few years in the past...about 6-8 years ago... when Orange County kids were allowed to play at NBR.  The boundary was reduced back to Jefferson County after it was revealed that it was becoming a "select" league in the 14-15 year old division.  Kids were being turned away based upon lack of skill.  Since the park that NBR plays upon is considered a neighborhood park in Nederland, there were alot of outraged parents whose kids were being turned away.  Good move, in my opinion, by the previous leaders at NBR who changed this back to Jefferson County only and turn away NO kids.

It is my understanding that the present board has expanded the boundary again, but this time with good intentions of including more kids in the league who may want to try something different or who may not have any other alternative.

Nederland Babe Ruth and Mid-County Babe Ruth are two seperate organizations.  NBR is for 13-15 year olds and MCBR is for 16-18 year olds.  They operate totally seperate from each other.

MC Sr. Babe Ruth has taken some 15 yr olds from Orange County in the past if they had spots open.  I doubt we will do that now that the OC kids can play down.

    • Where were the 8 Omaha teams in D1's preseason top 25 poll... 2. Florida 8. A&M 9. Tennessee 13. N.C.State 14. Virginia 15. North Carolina Kentucky - unranked Florida State - unranked
    • That TDS is really flaring. Now do Biden. You have way, way, way more material. And keep that bitter "you are better than me" jealousy tone you have with Trump. You know Biden, the one you want everyone to vote for instead of Trump. Somehow you didn't acknowledge my pleas for you to die a painful death. I was quite certain that is how you would have interpreted my previous post. I guess when your focus is Trump 24/7, nothing else matters.
    • I have a better one. The point that nobody wants to acknowledge is that Dems are crossing over to vote Trump in the primaries and in the general so he will win the presidency. That way Trump will get the blame when the Dems implement their sinister plan to deport all of the minorities in the country. They have already laid the groundwork...convincing everyone that Trump and Republicans are racist (without providing any proof). Then it will be just a matter of time to execute their White supremacy plan of the great purge of the dirty, unwashed, heathen, non-Whites that roam freely in this country. I think my theory is more viable than your theory. Maybe we can get some other ridiculous scenarios so we can start a poll.
    • But that’s what Trump’s fanboys don’t understand.  When he talked about sexually assaulting women, y’all laughed it off as “locker room talk.”  When it was proven that he raped E. Jean Carroll, you cried that it was all an injustice… a lie. Even though he’d already confessed to doing the same thing to other women.  John McCain has suffered and sacrificed more for his country than practically anybody, except possible gold star families… and Trump called him a loser or something to that effect. “Oh, it was a joke that no one was supposed to take seriously.” But when Trump, after disrespecting the sacrifices of one of our most valiant, y’all are like “just because Trump didn’t go to Omaha Beach doesn’t mean he isn’t pro military!” Really? All you have to do is listen to what he said about McCain’s service. Not McCain as an opponent, not McCain’s political views… about the fact that the man was tortured, probably raped, and who knows what all else for over five years for swearing an oath and putting on the uniform.  But all of y’all supposedly “pro military” people just laughed along with Trump. “Good one, Sir! Maverick my new-hind! Filthy Rino!”  I don’t understand how the same people (y’all) who probably always say “thank you for your service” to any veteran still support a guy who craps on the ones who suffered the most on our behalf.  It’s baffling.
    • Wow. Do you actually believe your little scenario has any chance of alleviating you of your moral immaturity? Deflection at it's best...or worse. You seem to be a sad case. If you died today, I would be remiss if not attributing your cause of death to severe TDS, and of course, Covid. Look at that. I just made a joke about your death. You did not get offended. Nobody was offended. Not one person will accuse me of being hateful towards fellow human beings. But yet, you hate Trump because he made a similar crude comment about McCain. You tried to attribute that comment as evidence Trump hates the military. What grade level of schoolchildren do you think is laughing at you for that "less that adolescent" (hint, hint) comment. You used one crude comment in an attempt to justify your TDS. Now, when called on it, you try to deflect the whole topic. You are certainly not having any fun with this, but you sure are providing entertainment for the board. It's a shame you can't join in on the fun. I think even Big Girl might be to the point of giggling at the shamelessness you are exhibiting.
