Respect for teams in the play-offs

Recommended Posts

trash talking's fun to an extent. no matter what your teams record is, they're 0-0 starting the play-offs. i know everyone's pushing for their team but lets not cut down the kids. they're out there trying hard for their schools. we want to make this area great for football. everyone looks forward to it. yes, i'm a bronco fan but respect all the teams we play even if they haven't won any games. like i said before, any team can be beaten on any given night. i definitely respect vidor. being a vidor alumni in '68, my kids grw up in dayton and my grandkids still go to school there so i became a bronco fan even when dayton was a bad team. i root for vidor when we don't play them but have to go with my broncos. these kids try hard. that's why i love watching this sport and look forward for it to come around. all these teams are here for a purpose and that's to win and try to grab the ring. hope someone from this region does it this year. good luck to everyone in the play-offs. god speed and be safe. "GO BRONCOS" ;) ;)

Great post, I agree let the kids enjoy the moment all us has beens Al Bundy days are long gone. Plan on going to as many games as time allows to watch all our area teams. Good luck to all, pray for no injuries and lets show the state what south east texas can do!

Trash talking in good fun is no big deal.  When you start calling kids out for not doing something you think they should have done, then you have gone to far.  They are just kids doing something that they love to do.  Best of luck to all the kids that have made it into the playoffs.  They are making memories that will last a life time, no matter if they win or lose.

    • I will never understand why someone cares what decisions a family makes regarding their own child? Maybe Joe Burrow learns great life lessons from burning up all his eligibility sitting behind Justin Fields at Ohio State but I’m sure him and his family feel like they made the right decision by transferring to LSU, becoming the #1 pick and now being the highest paid QB in NFL history. Same for Kyler Murray, Baker Mayfield and Jalen Hurts at their first stops.    I think it was more beneficial for Reggie Branch to transfer to Crosby and end up having an opportunity to play for a state title versus staying at GCM and learning life lessons while he loses and probably doesn’t go D1 because his team is a perennial loser. If Robinson throws for 2k yards this year it’s going to be a lot better for his recruitment purposes than sitting on the bench at BH, not to mention he’s going to get significant looks because of the kids he’s on the team with and the offers/commitments they’ve already made. He’s not being taught to run from competition, he’s being taught to gamble on himself just like all those other guys I mentioned did.
    • You have found Utopia. I live in the real world.
    • Every Yuppie wants one.  Give me a V-8 with loud pipes, and they can have their electric vehicles.  Was working a major incident one day and we had a road blocked off.  Police vehicles with lights going and a kid pulls up in a Tesla.  He - let me stress that HE is sobbing uncontrollably because he is at 5% battery life and HAS to go down the road we have blocked to get to a charging station.  He pulled over and literally threw a temper tantrum because we would not let him through.
    • Have you noticed that it's always the libs that bring up race?  For a long time now whenever a lib is losing an argument or have nothing else to say they bring up racism.  Or something silly like institutional racism.  LOL!
    • Ha!  Whatever that means!
