After the 1st Qtr.

i dont know Sgt.... Last year even with an All American back Ozen lead after the 1st qtr.. I really think people have let the last 3 yrs get to them remember.. Ozen has only had 3 losing seasons and it looks like the panthers of old have returned but lets just wait only 1 week remains until alot of people get a real wake up call

I think Ozen does turn the program around, I agree with that 100%.  New coach, new attitude, new uniforms next year(it always happens with a new coach)....I was talking smack, bout WB being up by 14 after the 1st...honestly, being so early in the season, I don't see either one of us scoring very much, the best defense wins this....An Offense, in general, usually takes a couple of weeks to be close to full strength(last year our offense had seasoned Vets).  This year we are younger....for the sake of both of our programs, I hope we work those kinks out in our scrimmages....I still think the trophy stays here at Da' Brook!!! :D :D :D ;D ;D

OK, lemme rephrase that. When was the last time Ozen had a decent QB?....never mind! You are absolutely right, we lost our original QB (Paul Falgout) due to injury in spring ball. The kid that will be calling the signals is a young, inexperienced, unathletic, immature Junior named Bruce Reyes. He is no threat so you dont have to worry about remembering his name. Feel better ozenfinest@1906? I can go on if you wish.......

last time they had a decent QB was in 07 london durham...but brook will most likely win this game not only because of the QB but because the lack of good athletes at ozen...i know its hard to believe seeing that it is ozen but they really dont have many athletes at ozen anymore its not the same ozen it used to be...ozen will struggle in football and basketball this season...rodney should really consider choosing better coaches if he plans to turn ozens football program around not saying that nelson is bad but i just think they need a real big name coach at ozen he needs to stop hiring around the area

The statement in bold was the funniest statement on this board... Not the Ozen of old?  Ozen is not an old school... Maybe he meant not the Hebert of old?

Lufkin is state ranked, Ozen can 't even win their district.

Brook 24 - Ozen 7

&

Westbrook can't win theirs either, and our district is much tougher than theirs

Um, we only lost to north shore last year and the year before that we went undefeated in district and the year before that we shared the title. So what are you talking about?

People forget quickly.  The year that Christine Michael was a junior and Albert Williams was a senior, Lufkin beat them in a scrimmage 49 to 0.  No, this year's team is not that good, but Lufkin had 41 seniors on their squad.  West Brook has 3.  I think West Brook wins 24 -17.

    • We'll see. I don't trust us.
    • Starting pitching has been shaky the last few weeks due to some injuries outside of Hagen Smith.  He goes tomorrow, so y’all should be fine
    • Manchin may get it but any mention of the radical left that wanted to get rid of the filibuster and end almost 220 years of history because the Democrats are mad?  The House and Senate are obviously different legislative bodies with entirely different election processes and rules for a reason. The House can vote on laws with a simple majority vote. The Senate put rules in place that it would make it much tougher to pass laws. Laws should be difficult to pass. The Senate is often the holdup of the right and left. It takes 60 votes to break the filibuster so any law will almost certainly require agreement at least in part, from opposing sides of an issue. Because they can’t get laws passed, the radical left is like a baby having a tantrum and wants to change over 200 years of history and make it potentially ridiculously easy to pass laws. I have seen current poll maps and it is possible for the Republicans to sweep into complete power in November but by the tiniest margin. That would possibly mean that a single vote margin in both houses could enact what you might call the radical right laws. There would be nothing that the Democrats could do to stop any legislation whatsoever if the left (they are all radical, minus Manchin) got their filibuster rule changed.  That is where the current filibuster comes into play as any new law would require several Democrats to agree with the majority Republicans and vice versa.  Do you want the potential for your radical right to have free rein as the radical left wants by killing the filibuster or is the radical left just as (if not more) dangerous? Let’s see if we have a history in this area? Oh yeah, the Democrats changed the rules in the Senate to allow federal judges to not have to overcome the filibuster. Obama was not getting his federal judge nominations passed and being angry, they changed the rules instead of nominating more moderate justices. They were warned that it would come back to bite them. They didn’t care and chose the nuclear option to change the rules. Oops! Any guess how Trump got all of his Supreme Court nominees passed against strong Democrat opposition? The Democrats got rid of the filibuster for federal judges after another tantrum   So when you are so worried about the radical right, are you equally concerned in what the radical left is always doing by changing rules and history which were put into place just for situations like we are in? So while Manchin gets it, what about his other 50 colleagues (49 + Harris)?  What concerns you more, Abbott and Paxton or the Democrats who want to make it to where if the Republicans do take over, they can go wild… at least in your mind?
    • MODS please remove that ISD twitter link! I had no idea it would copy the whole posting. I only highlighted the portion about the venue change. Sorry about that!
