Is Jacoby Turner the best on ball defender in the area??

Yes, he has demonstrated that 30+ ppg capability on multiple occasions.  Jarvis is the only HJ player who averages 30+ for this entire season; Jacoby's got next.  You'll see...

Excuse me, you are saying that Jarvis Benard is averaging 30 points a game this season?

I find that hard to believe.

You caught me there, AAW: I have not tracked his numbers.  My impression from watching him in every game HJ has played this year is that he's likely at 30+ ppg.  He's had several 40+.  Anyway, he ain't garbage.

From the boxscores that I was able to pull up and the games that I have done, I have Jarvis avg. right at 22 a game, Turner at 17.

Whether its man to man or zone makes little difference when evaluating the defensive capabilities.  Mr. Turner comes up with an extraordinary amount of steals and, in my opinion, rebounds far better for his size than anyone in the district.

it makes a huge difference in evaulating defensive capabilities thats probably the most ignorant thing(ive seen a few people called that who didnt deserve it) ive seen all day...

Why does it make a difference when evaluating a defensive player?  Silsbee plays some zone, I've seen Orangefield do it quite a bit this year.  I know HF, Bridge City, and WOS all play lots of zone too.  You can't be a DPOY if your team plays zone?  Because a team plays man to man and one plays zone then the player whose team plays man should have the edge in defensive awards??  Seriously??  You can either defend or you can't.....it doesn't matter what style of defense you play in.

    • We had the same type of rules when Coach Stone was at PNG.
    • I’m curious to see if this will happen next season .
