BC at HJ Predictions??

this game upset me as a fan,

BC is capable of so much more IF they come out to play!

they didn't play the best they can,

a couple of the drives HJ had were stopped WHEN BC's Defense played where they should be playing the whole game, and they KNOW they can play,

their just not consistant enough right now, i sure do hope that changes,

the next couple weeks are gonna be TOUGH for BC....

do i think they can win?

yes, i believe they have a chance, but only if they play the WHOLE game at the top of their game with few or no mistakes....

but, if they don't, you'll see last season's games again the next couple games,

Come on BC!

hj only punted 1 time and they got a roughing the kicker call so they got an automatic first down the score could have been alot worse.....

they just didn't come out to play football, their not focused, and hopefully that'll change, i still think that BC can beat HJ, but that doesn't matter because they lost a game they, (IMO) should have won...

yeah, if they would have came out to play i dont see the game being 41-14....

i see it being a very close game...

as i've said, you saw last season's BC team in this game, they just couldn't get it together...

That is two seasons in a row that HJ has beat BC.  I understand that the BC players heads may or may not be into football mode right now, but you cannot say that a team should have won when they lost by 27 points!!!!

watch film of BC vs any other team they've played...

especially Kountze!

i cant recall what the exact score was at halftime last night with HJ BUT with Kountze the game was 28-7 at half... 21 point difference, the half time score for HJ was about the same give or take a few points, BUT my point is that in the Kountze game you will see the WHOLE HJ game in the first half, then in the 2nd half of the game you will see the true BC Cardinal team they are capable of being...

BC Shut out Kountze in the 2nd half and BC score 19 points to make it a 28-26 loss...

so obviously something is wrong when you have a decent football team getting beat 41-14 on the first game in District!

and yes, i still say their minds were 100% on HJ and winning the football game i dont think they would have lost and if they did it be by only 3-6 points...

you are living in the past but hj is here to stay they were clearly the dominate team the only difference in the score would be when hjs qb ran in a touchdown and it got called back ....and at the end of the game bc scored against kids that dont see the field very much...2nd and 3rd string players!!! it could have been worse!!

I am very proud of the BC football team and coaching staff for working hard and preparing for a football game with everything else they are dealing with on a daily basis.  Football is great to get the kid's minds off of the devistation that has happened to thier hometown.  That being said, winning or losing, having more penalties than usual, or playing the way fans in the stands think they should play is hard for anyone other than the BC football team to determine.  There are many players who have not yet made it back to practice due to having to help thier families salvage thier homes.  There have also been a few injuries to the players that have returned, causing other players to have to fill in and learn new positions in a short period of time.  I don't think anyone in Bridge City is wanting any sort of excuse for the lose, we are all very proud of the character that is being built in these young men playing a sport that they love for a town that they love.

GO BIG RED!

You know whats really funny?? B.C.'s starting running back is a FRESHMEN! Just thought it was funny, Oh and he's starting strong safety to. Got to give that kid credit for only being 14 years old.

That's a terrible excuse to blame any reason for how much worse had BC done with the regular running back in. HJ lost both starting corners very early in the season, Burrell was hurt most of the game, and HJ had lost their Middle linebacker midway through the week that had most tackles on defense. I do give credit to the runningback but obvoiusly its not bad to have him in if hes better than everyone else. BC is doing a great job on helping their kids remained focused to come out and play after being devastated by a hurricane. For you 92, you're throwing out some bad excuses as well. Had BC done this, had BC done that... I could well enough be saying had HJ not got that QB touchdown called back, had HJ not had 4 penalties in a row...But we aren't. The game was won 41-14 in HJ's favor, and had the game been played again this week I don't think much of a difference at this point in time. BC has alot of more young players again this season, and i think will be the tougher team maybe next year or the year after. Hopefully hurricanes will leave EVERYONE alone in this area and no excuses can be brought about next year.

Go watch film of HJ vs. Anahuac

HJ was down 29-0 at the half, and came out and shut out Anahuac in the 2nd half and scored 34 unanswered points in the 2nd half to win 34-29...

Also go watch the HJ vs. Newton film where everyone had HJ picked to lose by 40 or more points and they had it within 5 points in the 4th quarter...

and when you said, "so obviously something is wrong when you have a decent football team getting beat 41-14 on the first game in District!" maybe there is something wrong, maybe whats wrong is that they're playing a better football team in HJ...

everyone is looking for excuses to use why BC lost maybe the problem isn't with BC just that HJ truly was the better team and came to win it.

Some things are more important than football, I was glad to see them suite up and try to get back to normal, I thought that BC played with class, and they have my respect, personally I cant explain in words how bad the damage is down there, I have seen it first hand and my heart and respect goes out to everyone who lives there. I know the outcome was not what BC wanted, but there is no way they would be right where they were before IKE. I know BC wasn't the only city hit but it is the worst I have seen in our District so far.

I applaud the coaches, players, and staff at the highschool.

    • We'll see. I don't trust us.
    • Starting pitching has been shaky the last few weeks due to some injuries outside of Hagen Smith.  He goes tomorrow, so y’all should be fine
    • Manchin may get it but any mention of the radical left that wanted to get rid of the filibuster and end almost 220 years of history because the Democrats are mad?  The House and Senate are obviously different legislative bodies with entirely different election processes and rules for a reason. The House can vote on laws with a simple majority vote. The Senate put rules in place that it would make it much tougher to pass laws. Laws should be difficult to pass. The Senate is often the holdup of the right and left. It takes 60 votes to break the filibuster so any law will almost certainly require agreement at least in part, from opposing sides of an issue. Because they can’t get laws passed, the radical left is like a baby having a tantrum and wants to change over 200 years of history and make it potentially ridiculously easy to pass laws. I have seen current poll maps and it is possible for the Republicans to sweep into complete power in November but by the tiniest margin. That would possibly mean that a single vote margin in both houses could enact what you might call the radical right laws. There would be nothing that the Democrats could do to stop any legislation whatsoever if the left (they are all radical, minus Manchin) got their filibuster rule changed.  That is where the current filibuster comes into play as any new law would require several Democrats to agree with the majority Republicans and vice versa.  Do you want the potential for your radical right to have free rein as the radical left wants by killing the filibuster or is the radical left just as (if not more) dangerous? Let’s see if we have a history in this area? Oh yeah, the Democrats changed the rules in the Senate to allow federal judges to not have to overcome the filibuster. Obama was not getting his federal judge nominations passed and being angry, they changed the rules instead of nominating more moderate justices. They were warned that it would come back to bite them. They didn’t care and chose the nuclear option to change the rules. Oops! Any guess how Trump got all of his Supreme Court nominees passed against strong Democrat opposition? The Democrats got rid of the filibuster for federal judges after another tantrum   So when you are so worried about the radical right, are you equally concerned in what the radical left is always doing by changing rules and history which were put into place just for situations like we are in? So while Manchin gets it, what about his other 50 colleagues (49 + Harris)?  What concerns you more, Abbott and Paxton or the Democrats who want to make it to where if the Republicans do take over, they can go wild… at least in your mind?
