  1. I am very proud of the BC football team and coaching staff for working hard and preparing for a football game with everything else they are dealing with on a daily basis. Football is great to get the kid's minds off of the devistation that has happened to thier hometown. That being said, winning or losing, having more penalties than usual, or playing the way fans in the stands think they should play is hard for anyone other than the BC football team to determine. There are many players who have not yet made it back to practice due to having to help thier families salvage thier homes. There have also been a few injuries to the players that have returned, causing other players to have to fill in and learn new positions in a short period of time. I don't think anyone in Bridge City is wanting any sort of excuse for the lose, we are all very proud of the character that is being built in these young men playing a sport that they love for a town that they love. GO BIG RED!
  2. The Sun Devils have 14u, 16u & 18u teams.
  3. Congrats to the Bridge City 8th Grade Boys Track Team! District Champs as 7th Graders and 8th Graders! WOW Way to go Cardinals!
  4. The 14 u SE TX Sun Devils won their tournament at Big League Dreams/Hitchcock this weekend. Way to go Sun Devils!
  5. Menard is an 8th grader at BC, and, actually got 4 first place finishes and one 2nd place finish. Still not a bad for him.
  6. WO-S Middle School boys won district in the 8th grade division last year. Those guys are now Freshman. The Bridge City Middle School 7th Grade boys won district last year. Those guys are now 8th graders. (Middle School) I think the comment was meant to mean that the 7th graders who won last year could win district again this year as 8th graders in Middle School. The BC boys did have a very nice showing in the track meet tonight. Hope the progress continues. Best of luck to them, and all the Middle schoolers.
  7. Congrats to the BCMS 8th Grade A team boys! They are a fun group to watch play. Best of luck to them the rest of the season.
  8. BC vs HJ was a close match up for the 7th and 8th grade boys teams. 8th grade A team ended with BC beating HJ 47 - 45 after TRIPLE overtime. Wow! Great effort by both teams.
  9. mynameisbob (whoever you are, you keep changing your screen name) ~ You did criticize the BC team. You said they had poor sportsmanship last year, and the BC fans used racial slurrs towards the St. Anne's players last year. You were VERY sarcastic in your post. The phrases you used were not factual in nature, they were sarcastic. And, you are the one who mentioned racial comments more than once in your post. I was at the game this year and last year and I honestly couldn't tell you anything racial, I look at the players numbers. I also do not recall any racial comments made at all. As far as not knowing basketball very well, I honestly don't know it as well as others. However, I do know fouls when I see them, especially if the same thing was called a foul for one team and the other team does the same thing and it is NOT called a foul. As I have said, St. Anne's has a great team with many great players. I know some of them personally. My comment was about the officiating being weak, not the players. If you would get the chip off your shoulder you could see the difference.
  10. St. Anne's MS Basketball coach is Clint Hartsfield from BC.
  11. I expect them to play with much more class than this post of yours. I NEVER degraded St. Anne's team, read the post again. I know many of the players and think they are great kids. The St. Anne's coach is from BC. As far as posting on Middle School athletics, athletes begin playing before High School, and it is fun to watch. You clicked on this site too, or you wouldn't have posted here....think about it. Read my original post. You seem a little defensive. The officials were not good, but bottom line is St. Anne's had more points when the buzzer sounded. Congrats to them, as I said before, they are a good team.
  12. BC AT St. Anne's Not sure about 7th Grade B team. St Anne's 8th Grade B team beat BC (can't remember the score, but it was fairly close, within 10, if I remember correctly) St Anne's 7th Grade A team beat BC (again, close game, not sure of the score) St Anne's 8th Grade A team beat BC's A team 58 - 56. It was an extremely close game. This loss is the 1st for this group of 8th graders in the 2 years they have played MS atheletics. The loss was going to come at some point, but it is difficult to take with such poor officiating. BC had 2 starters foul out, and St Anne's stayed in double bonus it seemed the enitre 2nd half, while BC never got into the bonus fouls. I don't know much at all about basketball, but I think the loss would have been easier if the BC team didn't feel they were playing against St Anne's and the officials. St. Anne's has a great basketball team, it was a close game. It will be fun to watch these 2 teams face off again. They are entered in a few of the same tournaments. Best of luck to both teams.
  13. Let me clarify about this Bridge City 8th Grade Football team: This year's 8th Grade football team won District as 7th Graders last year and they won District as 8th Graders THIS year! BACK TO BACK DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIPS!!! THE SAME GROUP OF BOYS 2 YEARS IN A ROW. This same group of boys, as 7th graders, not only won EVERY football game last year in 7th Grade, and now again in 8th Grade, they also won EVERY basketball game they played last year, including all tournaments. This same group of boys as 7th Graders also won EVERY track meet they participated in, including the District Meet. So when I said District Champs 7th & 8th Grade, I meant THIS TEAM of football players are DISTRICT CHAMPS as 7th Graders and 8th Graders. This is a very talented group of young men. Bridge City has a bright future.
  14. What a GREAT game!! Two outstanding teams! Great win! District Champs 7th & 8th Grade! What a way to begin school football! Way to go BIG RED!
  15. BC vs WO-S 8th Grade looks like it will be a great District Championship game. In District play this looks like the standings: BC scored 172 WO-S scored 184 BC allowed 14 WO-S allowed 22 Difference of 4 points in the Mustangs favor What about pre-season? BC 50 Lumberton 0 BC 39 Mauriceville 0 ** BC has only allowed 14 points (all points allowed in the Silsbee game) **WO-S has allowed 22 points (in district. Not sure about pre-season?) Common opponents: BC 40 WO-S 42 HJ 0 HJ 0 BC 20 WO-S 28 Silsbee 14 Silsbee 16 BC 26 WO-S 44 Kirbyville 0 Kirbyville 6 (BC played Kirbyville A&B teams combined) BC 47 WO-S 30 Jasper 0 Jasper 6 BC plays HF this next week (WO-S 40 HF 0) WO-S plays OF this next week (BC 39 OF 0) Final game of the season is BC vs WO-S in BC and it looks like a GREAT ball game!!! Best of luck to all the 8th graders, this is a Super age group to watch play football!
  16. BC vs C.O. Wilson would be a good game. BC proved to have the drive to win this week against Silsbee. Silsbee is a very strong team, great match up. Can't wait to see these teams go at it at the HS level.
  17. BC's 8th grade has scored 129 points in 3 games and allowed 0. Not sure how many 1st downs have been allowed, but it hasn't been many. Should be a good game this week.
  18. Final score for Bridge City's 8th Grade A team: BC 50 Lumberton 0
  19. BC's 8th Grade is crossing their fingers for another great season. The boys have been working hard and are ready to play. The 7th grade group looks like they are ready for their 1st season of school ball too. Go BIG RED!
  20. The BCLL 9-10 yr old Girls Softball team won State today. Way to go BC girls! ;D
  21. What an awesome honor! Congrats to Troy, Johnny, Garrett, and Jordan. That is a great group of young men. Congrats to the other boys as well.
  22. Sam Moore is associated with The Zone (Indoor Pitching and Hitting Facility in Orange) The Zone (409) 882-7784
  23. BC has a lot of strong athletes that will step up and work hard this year. It may be a rebuilding year, but the kids will work and play hard. Stump and the other coaches will have them ready. There is a very strong group of kids that will be sophomores this coming year. G.I. Joe Robertson & Josh Lemoine just to name a few.
  24. Joseph Robertson is one awesome baseball player! As is the other freshman starter, Matt Hicks. BC has a bright future! Man, that Johnny Dishon, what can you say, WOW!! He makes BC proud! All I can say is, WOW, watching BC Baseball is FUN!!!! There are many unsung heros in BC, Troy Bolton, Casey Jackson, Jaden Dillon, and those that get less playing time like Garrett Delano, Chase Leger, etc, they all give so much to the team that is not ever seen. They are all Cardinals to the bone. We are proud of them all!!
  25. Cameron Dishon is an AWESOME athlete! He and the 7th Grade group he plays with should do GREAT thing in the future. You will hear DISHON for at least 5 more years. ;D
