Is Ball any good or La Porte really that bad??

They are young but the team definitely has potential. I figured they would lose to La Porte but more wanted to see how they would compete. Going in into halftime down 19-21 not bad. Once they find their identity hoping very soon, I wouldn’t be surprise if they upset a few teams.

I think they played pretty well. I agree. They will upset someone. Not sure I would call it a big upset though.

I assume you got your question backwards?

The reports of LP's demise are premature. They are not the same Dawg team of the last 2 years yet because of youth. But, I said this team has a lot more potential. I mean A LOT.

PNG found out about Crawford. Imagine playing them the first game with a young D, new OL, new offense. and no real film. LP was still within 3 in the 4th quarter. Then, the Border Battle at Abshier (you are well aware how it is to play there) against a Deer team that is better than any I've seen from them in years--maybe decades. They had revenge on their mind, and they got it. Any doubts about them? Look what Dawson did last night & the Deer blanked them 35-0. LP still scored 17, and should have had 2 more scores. Deer Park has only given up 24 points so far this year. LP has 17 of them.

Ball stacked the box with all 11 within 8 yards of the LOS almost all night. In years past, that would have shut LP down. Especially with a young OL. Not gonna work this year. LP scored almost 60, and Simon didn't even have to carry the load.

They still have a lot of work to do. A lot of growth. But, they're getting there.

Berneathy doesn't schedule Bellaires or Daytons. Looking at you PAM & Angleton.

We'll see how good La Porte is next week versus GCM.

Depends how quick they can continue to put things together. They're coming along. D is still a major work in progress. But, you can see improvement in coverage. They're just missing plays by a little. Tackling is improving.

It's like everything is just a step off, and timing is just riiiiiggggghhhht there still. But, it's getting there.

Ball has a pretty good secondary,  run defense has been questionable but overall a pretty good defense. Offense is glueing together, we have a QB that can make plays and a sophomore RB that is scary and WRs that has speed. I will say this isn’t the same Ball team from last year.
