Hopefully this was a coming out party for HJ. You can’t lose to Vidor on Tuesday and then come out with this kind of Intensity and take WB to OT if you want to be a serious state contender. The consistency needs to be there week in and week out. WB has to feel good knowing all the have to do is keep the game close and then in the last few minutes of the game, just give the ball to Garrett and move out of the way, that kid is special!

The reigning state tournament mvp has looked bored to begin the year. Except for the last minute of regulation today and OT lol

Questionable call at the end of regulation. Refs called a foul right as the time was expiring. Would have given HJ two free throws, but the trail official said the clock had already expired. Regardless, this was a fantastic game to watch.

Garrett took over in the last minute of regulation and during overtime. Kudos to HJ for battling.

Very questionable.   I was told …..   you don’t want a game like this to end on a FT.   Let it play out.
And WB was lucky their asst coach didn’t get a tech for being on the other side of the half court when they were determining that call.   The ref sent him to the bench.   Real lucky.  But again. Don’t want to end a game with FTs. .

A promising look to the future for HJ basketball. Big time minutes from the sophomore’s who seemed to hit huge buckets time and time again. Really complimented the core junior group. Defense was swarming and overall a great team effort against a team they were obviously outmatched against. Hopefully sets the tone for the rest of the season as they find consistency.

We will see if they can sustain that energy season long after going all out in their super-bowl yesterday.
