*POST DEWEYVILLE CLASSIC/SOUTH BEAUREGARD Wins Tournament *

Recommended Posts

After watching deweyville play they are not even in the same class with warren. I fill sorry for them they are in a tough district and if they keep own playing depending own the refs to win the game for them. They will not make it to the playoffs.

The first five impresed me a little, but the second five is just in there to push the ball and play hard defense.

South Beauregard had to play Deweyville and the two 70 year old refs. that couldn't see or hear and needed a scooter to get up and down the floor.  I'm from Spurger and I became a fan of South Beauregard the night of this game.  Even though Spurger lost to S. Beauregard, our team didn't have any negative against them.  They showed good sportsmanship and had a lot of class.  South Beauregard seems to have a very good coach and is well disciplined.  They really impressed me.

So if South Beauregard destroyed Spurger by 19.

What would you consider that Spurger done to Deweyville by 21?

According to you an off game, isn't that your excuse for Spurgers loses. And the ref's were bad for BOTH teams not just S. Beauragard.

I agree thats why they play the games. Thats why they played spurger and lost by 21. If u consider a 21 point deficient as just a bad game and not as deweyville is not as good as spurger, then you most of not been at the game.

I was at the game as well as Spurgers game against S. Beauragard when they beat Spurger by 19 pts., every team has off nights or bad games, what do you call that game?

I haven't seen D-Ville but 3 times this year but everytime I've seen them the coach distributed the playing time pretty equally.Early in the season coaches will take different looks at different combinations.Sometimes if you aren't a dominate player starting is highly overated.Never did believe in quitting once you've started.Whatever the circumstances it's a shame for the kid to not enjoy his senior season.

i think folsom is #14. in the 3 games i saw deweyville play in the Evadale tournament  he played alot i whould say  half of the time in all 3 games i think he was with the starters some during our game, and i dont remember him scoreing more than a basket  I dont know why he would be complaining about playing time.  I remember seeing him on the court alot when we came to Deweyville also.  you seem to have a solid team, i hope this is just a rumor, i know alot of players on other teams who would like to see that much court time.  and there are alot of us parents sure would like to see our boys on the court that much  JMO

Very interesting quote at the bottom of your post and a very true one. There are no good reason for quitting. It becomes easier every time.

I dont agree with quitting but in some situations its the only option. We dont know the circumstances surrounding this but i mean there are some reasons to quit. If u risk injury for the rest of ur life, personal problems, family problems, i mean to say there is no reason to quit isnt right.

    • We'll see. I don't trust us.
    • Starting pitching has been shaky the last few weeks due to some injuries outside of Hagen Smith.  He goes tomorrow, so y’all should be fine
    • Manchin may get it but any mention of the radical left that wanted to get rid of the filibuster and end almost 220 years of history because the Democrats are mad?  The House and Senate are obviously different legislative bodies with entirely different election processes and rules for a reason. The House can vote on laws with a simple majority vote. The Senate put rules in place that it would make it much tougher to pass laws. Laws should be difficult to pass. The Senate is often the holdup of the right and left. It takes 60 votes to break the filibuster so any law will almost certainly require agreement at least in part, from opposing sides of an issue. Because they can’t get laws passed, the radical left is like a baby having a tantrum and wants to change over 200 years of history and make it potentially ridiculously easy to pass laws. I have seen current poll maps and it is possible for the Republicans to sweep into complete power in November but by the tiniest margin. That would possibly mean that a single vote margin in both houses could enact what you might call the radical right laws. There would be nothing that the Democrats could do to stop any legislation whatsoever if the left (they are all radical, minus Manchin) got their filibuster rule changed.  That is where the current filibuster comes into play as any new law would require several Democrats to agree with the majority Republicans and vice versa.  Do you want the potential for your radical right to have free rein as the radical left wants by killing the filibuster or is the radical left just as (if not more) dangerous? Let’s see if we have a history in this area? Oh yeah, the Democrats changed the rules in the Senate to allow federal judges to not have to overcome the filibuster. Obama was not getting his federal judge nominations passed and being angry, they changed the rules instead of nominating more moderate justices. They were warned that it would come back to bite them. They didn’t care and chose the nuclear option to change the rules. Oops! Any guess how Trump got all of his Supreme Court nominees passed against strong Democrat opposition? The Democrats got rid of the filibuster for federal judges after another tantrum   So when you are so worried about the radical right, are you equally concerned in what the radical left is always doing by changing rules and history which were put into place just for situations like we are in? So while Manchin gets it, what about his other 50 colleagues (49 + Harris)?  What concerns you more, Abbott and Paxton or the Democrats who want to make it to where if the Republicans do take over, they can go wild… at least in your mind?
    • MODS please remove that ISD twitter link! I had no idea it would copy the whole posting. I only highlighted the portion about the venue change. Sorry about that!
