MrUmp1 i have another one. The trips to the mound, Is it so many trips per inning,per game or per pitcher before you have to pull the the kid that is pitching. Example---The coach made 2 trips with the first pitcher 3 with the second,and made one trip out with the third pitcher.The third pitcher was in his third inning of pitching before the coach made his visit to him. The field ump made him remove the pitcher. (?)

You play and beat who they put infront of you,you earn your way to the state semi's.You cant help the fact that some of the so call better teams are in a different region,they didnt make to the semi's.Spurger was one of the last 4 teams standing and should have been awarded so. If we want to go to "would have & could have's" I think you would have seen a different team all together If it was not played at UT. Im not saying Spurger would have beat Yuga so lets dont get any of that started.Yuga is a beast and is the state champions.But the last time Spurger shot below 30% from the feild they where beaten by kirbyville by 1.A few of the guys was alittle wide eyed from the whole process. That been said, IFs ANDs COULD WOULD, none of that makes a dam. Cayuga #1, Bronte #2, and Spurger and Gruver earned 3rd and 4th spot.

You have a runner on 2nd,batter hits the ball and the man on 2nd was stealing. Ball hits the field ump on the shoe ball goes out to right field.Is the ump part of the field or dead ball? Call was made batter gets first, runner who was almost to 3rd from stealing scored, was made to go back to 3rd.

With their first practice monday and a game at BS today Spurger is no where near ready to be playing district games.I just hope they can keep it in single digits. ;D On the bright side Mcgallion did pitch 2 scoreless inns today. And then was pulled being it was the first game.

Spurger will miss the two seniors but IMOP it will be more on the def-end then the scoring.I know it sounds crazy but look at the games the two didnt play in this year.As a team PPG was around the same and maybe a tad bit higher.The kids really step it up while they were out. Now the two seniors where IMOP the best deffensive guys on the team. Fill that roll and Spurger will be fine. Silsbee having DC and Lane to build a team around And add Gaines, alot of teams would like to have that problem ;)
