2020 HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL PREVIEWS

CLEVELAND INDIANS

2019 Record: 0-10 Overall; 0-7 District

8th Place in District 11-5A-II

 

The past few years have been one of flux for the Cleveland Indians.  Due to the population explosion Cleveland has jumped from a 4A school to the largest classification in Class 5A.  Also, the coaching situation has been constantly changing as Jason Fiacco takes over as the third Indian head coach in three years.  Fiacco inherits six starters on offense and five starters on defense to compete in District 8-5A-I.

 

COACHING

Head Coach: Jason Fiacco

Assistant Coaches: Nolan Mills (Defensive Coordinator), Seth Grubb (Offensive Coordinator), Leslie Davis (Offensive Line), Dustin McClure (Fullbacks), Jake Warrens (Running Backs), Jaraud Ross (Wide Receivers), Jamaul Ross (Defensive Backs), Gabrial Goodman (Asst. Defensive Line)

 

OFFENSE

Six starters return to the Cleveland offense in 2020.  Junior athlete Devonte Robertson is expected to take over as the Indian quarterback.  Sophomore running back Tyric Cannon and senior fullback Andrew Alpha will join them in the backfield.  Junior wide receivers Donald Robertson and Cary Wood will lead the Indian receiver corp.  Senior linemen Michael Nix and Dorian Garcia will lead the offensive line.

 

DEFENSE

Six starters return to the Cleveland defense in 2020.   Sophomore defensive tackle Ricky Cannon and senior defensive end Logan Hilton will lead the defensive line.  Junior linebacker Joshual Jack and Kendrae Lewis will lead the Cleveland linebacker corp.  Senior cornerback Stephan Hughey and sophomore Logan Faust will patrol the Indian secondary.

 

SPECIAL TEAMS

Special teams assignments will be finalized during fall practice.

With 3 coaches in as many years it's been a "fiasco" for sure. It's only fitting to have a HC with a sir name (Fiacco) that has much in common with current situation. This is too hilarious.
