Predictions: BMT United vs CE King 10/11/19

Recommended Posts

2018 Result:  King 35 United 30

Current District Records:  United 1-1, King 0-2

This game could have a big playoff implications if both of these teams get in.  It could be the difference in who gets the #1 seed (home playoff game) in D2 and who gets the #2 seed (road playoff game).

Look in the stadiums thread.  Trip isn't that far if going down 90.  Might want to leave early  though.  Traffic starts getting bad in Dayton and going into Crosby..

I know where the old stadium that's listed in the stadium thread is, it's located on the school campus.  They built a new stadium somewhere...

So I guess it'll be easier to just take I-10 to Houston and get on the beltway to get there...

Yea, from United to there about an 1hr 12 minutes, not too bad.  I'll probably leave the school about 5:00.

If I was actually betting on this game, in a pick em, I would have to go with King. Now, to be fair, Kings defense didnt see the same Bruin offense that United saw, so it wouldn't be fair to sat the United defense is not as good as Kings. But, after seeing both King, and United play, I would give the edge to King. However, I would like to see United win.

CE King's chances of getting in go down significantly if United wins. A loss to the T-wolves puts them at 0-3 and would require the Panthers to almost have to run the table to get in.

They already played NS, WB and now United on Friday. They will get in. Deer Park the only team after United that could sneak em. Look at their district record at this time last season.

Channelview's offense could give them problems. All King does is run the ball. I wouldn't trust them to win four games in a row.

Yea I seen that but if United wins, with WB, NS and United out of the way and Deer Park, Channelview, LaPorte and Sterling left, they could run the table.

Y'all should be fine. We about to see if these United coaches are worth the taxpayer money they've been getting paid.

Yea, time to fix some issues and move on.  We needed that kind of game to expose some things that were not exposed in the first 4 games.  Better to get them addressed now so we can have a chance of winning 4 out of the next 5 games.  A loss to WB doesn't change my confidence in this group of coaches to get these kids refocused on the task at hand.  My preseason prediction of 8-2 overall and 5-2 in district is still in play...

They could but unlikely from what I've seen. Deer Park is a tough out when they're not turning the ball over. Channelview has been putting up points. LaPorte is a pretender to me. I guess we'll see in the coming weeks.

Laporte win over Deer Park crushes WB high hopes of going D2 again.   Winner of the King vs BU game will finish 3rd while the loser will battle Channelview for the final spot.

    • We'll see. I don't trust us.
    • Starting pitching has been shaky the last few weeks due to some injuries outside of Hagen Smith.  He goes tomorrow, so y’all should be fine
    • Manchin may get it but any mention of the radical left that wanted to get rid of the filibuster and end almost 220 years of history because the Democrats are mad?  The House and Senate are obviously different legislative bodies with entirely different election processes and rules for a reason. The House can vote on laws with a simple majority vote. The Senate put rules in place that it would make it much tougher to pass laws. Laws should be difficult to pass. The Senate is often the holdup of the right and left. It takes 60 votes to break the filibuster so any law will almost certainly require agreement at least in part, from opposing sides of an issue. Because they can’t get laws passed, the radical left is like a baby having a tantrum and wants to change over 200 years of history and make it potentially ridiculously easy to pass laws. I have seen current poll maps and it is possible for the Republicans to sweep into complete power in November but by the tiniest margin. That would possibly mean that a single vote margin in both houses could enact what you might call the radical right laws. There would be nothing that the Democrats could do to stop any legislation whatsoever if the left (they are all radical, minus Manchin) got their filibuster rule changed.  That is where the current filibuster comes into play as any new law would require several Democrats to agree with the majority Republicans and vice versa.  Do you want the potential for your radical right to have free rein as the radical left wants by killing the filibuster or is the radical left just as (if not more) dangerous? Let’s see if we have a history in this area? Oh yeah, the Democrats changed the rules in the Senate to allow federal judges to not have to overcome the filibuster. Obama was not getting his federal judge nominations passed and being angry, they changed the rules instead of nominating more moderate justices. They were warned that it would come back to bite them. They didn’t care and chose the nuclear option to change the rules. Oops! Any guess how Trump got all of his Supreme Court nominees passed against strong Democrat opposition? The Democrats got rid of the filibuster for federal judges after another tantrum   So when you are so worried about the radical right, are you equally concerned in what the radical left is always doing by changing rules and history which were put into place just for situations like we are in? So while Manchin gets it, what about his other 50 colleagues (49 + Harris)?  What concerns you more, Abbott and Paxton or the Democrats who want to make it to where if the Republicans do take over, they can go wild… at least in your mind?
    • MODS please remove that ISD twitter link! I had no idea it would copy the whole posting. I only highlighted the portion about the venue change. Sorry about that!
