LaMarque vs. Texas City - This series has had what all good rivalries have – close games, fantastic finishes and bad blood. Known as the “Battle by the Bay”, the two schools are separated by just five miles on the shoreline of the Texas coast. These two teams are typically in the hunt for a state title and between them, the two schools have seven state titles. LaMarque leads the all-time series 27-18-3.

Celina vs. Pilot Point - One of the most intense rivalries in North Texas. The two teams have a storied history of success with legendary head coach G.A. Moore at the heart of the rivalry. Moore was born halfway between the two small towns and accumulated the vast majority of his state record of 408 wins in two separate tours of duty at each school. After coaching Pilot Point to state titles in 1980 and 1981, he returned to Celina in 1988. From 88 to 2001 the Bobcats won five state titles and went 163-22-1, beating Pilot Point 9 out of 13 times during that span. The all-time series is as close as any rivalry you'll find with Celina holding a slight edge at 25-23-1.

Ennis vs. Waxahachie - Few series over the years have been as heated as the annual grudge match between the Lions and the Indians. Known as the “Battle of 287” because of their proximity to one another down state highway 287. The series has had its share of ugly incidents over the years and there is clearly no love lost between the the two towns. Ennis has had the upper hand with an all time record of 43-33-1, including 12 straight.

Abilene vs. Abilene Cooper - Part of any good rivalry involves hatred and these two teams make no bones about it – they hate one another with a passion. Cooper holds the all-time series lead, winning the majority of games in each decade until the 2000’s. Since 1996 the series has evened out with each team winning six games.

Many great players have participated in this game including future NFL stars, Jessie Armstead, Greg Hill, Chet Brooks and Clifton Abraham. Carter holds the edge in the all-time series with 28 wins 11 losses and 3 ties.

San Antonio Clark vs. San Antonio Churchill - One of the state’s highest profile rivalries is between Churchill and Clark in San Antonio’s North East Independent School District. The two schools have an annual football game known as the "Gucci Bowl" due to the historical affluence of the area. Some notable alumni from Clark include former Texas players Jerrell Wilkerson and Wane McGarity.

Sherman vs Denison, aka "Battle of the Ax," is pretty big. I actually went to that this year and the place was packed. It was at Denison's Stadium and it is OLD. It's comparable to a 2A stadium in attendance. Denison's fans actually sat on the Home and Away side and filled up nearly both. Left the isles to the Sherman fans. They are pretty vocal in their distaste for each other, but I would still give the upper hand to Nederland/PNG rivalry. After playing in that game, the only game that beats it is Permian vs Midland Lee/Odessa High. It gets violent with all the hits on the field and the fans in the stands. they aren't friends after like Ned and PNG are.
