Dayton will once again win District and be back on top. Crosby has had a good few years and they act like they been great and made it to the playoffs 20 years in a row also like my mighty Broncos. Come on Cougars really

Well, we're about to make it 12 years in a row. It's a different time. Dayton will be fine but it's probably going to be a lot harder than you think to get back to the top of the district.

Did Dayton go back to the bubble screen under Nations, says they had 10 completions for 68 yards? CV seems like they have a solid qb?

This is the hidden content, please

I guess Hurts knows what he is doing after all at developing the QB position.

Their enrollment is growing so the qbs are getting help now. Yeah CV lost Jalen Hurts but I don't even think he put up as many total yards as his brother did in their best years? Dad Hurts can just coach, he just doesn't have the depth of athletes for the 6A level.

I really wanted us to win this one. Too many penalties and missed opportunities, but that can probably be said most of the time someone doesn't win. Congrats to CV. It was good to see no fumbles or pics though. Thought we had a good game plan. Gonna be an interesting year with BH and Crosby. And there's always a surprise somewhere.

Lets not get overly concerned just yet=6a Pearland Oilers had to have a 54 yd fumble ret for late 4th qtr 28-24 win over 6a Clear Springs 28-24 both projected playoff contenders.Next 5a Willis beats 6a Hou McArthur 21-6 & holds the Generals to 167 tot yds.Just gotta fix some small issues.Remember them long playoff runs we lost some gms early, rebounded.Looks like 21-5a is top heavy w/some early big surprize wins from BH-Humble-NC.It's pretty much been a 5 team race for awhile.King moving up opens another spot for somebody to grab

Agree. Week 1 is first peek at what all teams will be but none of us should read too much in to week one. But thanks to our nine team district we better look at first two weeks pretty hard as district starts week 3. BH vs Crosby for us.

    • Will probably be released by the Democrats come September.  Sound familiar?
    • Sure.  You reassign an employee and they leave voluntarily instead of being fired and being open to litigation.  The outcome is the same, but you are making my point.  The superintendent and AD and principal are all empowered to make personnel decisions.  Instead of accepting the decision made, you talk about lawyering up, no one else was reprimanded, railroad job.  I am old enough to remember when high school sports taught life lessons...accountability being chief among them.
    • I know absolutely nothing about the situation, but I do know head coaches of sports other than the AD have actual teaching assignments, and I know from my wife having worked in the sped department of multiple schools that it’s not uncommon at all for coaches to shirk those duties.  It could very well be that this was the case at BC.  Or not, I don’t know.  Just bringing this up to point out the fact that, although many coaches only want to worry about coaching, they generally have several other responsibilities at the school.  some of them neglect or ignore these duties entirely.  If he’s been written up for other issues before, it’s a dumb argument to say “he was punished for this and others were not”.  If he had a pile of write ups in his file and they did not then it makes sense that the punishments were different.
    • He wasn’t fired, he was reassigned and people get reassigned all the time. If he was actually fired, then you would have a point, but he wasn’t fired. Based on the information presented here no way this would stand if they fired him and he lawyered up.
    • I heard the assistant was going to get this job and assume it was referring to the old Vidor coach, Nate Smith.  I always thought he did more with less at Vidor and can't help but think he shares some responsibility in Vidor's recent success.
