STJFL Board

I bet Ray Rice wishes he was not videoed too. Maybe he should start a riot. Cameras are everywhere and they are sometimes used to document actions. My point is only do or say what you want the world to see in public. If a person is comfortable in the way they are behaving they should have no problem with sharing this with the "world" IE you tube. if a picture is worth a thousand words. How many words for a video? Hmmmmmmmm.

With all this Bmt drama in youth football, all I have really noticed on Fri nights is that the mid county boys top notch couch potato and video game training from their youth has been paying off.  Thank goodness none of them were out putting in "backyard time" with their dads as 9 and 10 year old superstars.  Jag, luvya, anklenibbler, and bugatti might want to change up the workout regimen.  Just throwing that out there for all the "we win by 60 + because we work hard and your chubby couch potatos don't," comments.    B)

The use of the GoPro is to document the conduct of coaches that Are F'bombing 5/6 year old kids and refs.

Today, we a very vocal parent/Fan on the sideline. As soon as this parent saw the GoPro as I appoarched them , the situation was immediate defused.

These adults that conduct themselves in an unsportsmanlike manners have very short memories and 1,000 reasons to justify this conduct.

I'm very hesitant to answer any questions on this board because those who are against the ones that spend 1,00 of hours away from their families and constantly are being bombarded with personnel attacks while having every word possible twisted to justify thier conduct.

But your right, it's a shame that I have to take these step to insure that any situation is handled correctly And that STJFL survives as a league.

So why would anyone be against all STJFL Rep wearing a GoPro to eliminate these adults that ruin such an event for children.

Bobcat 101 if you have coaches that are dropping the F bomb towards 5/6 year olds and refs why has the board not kicked them out of the league? You mean to tell me you have seen and heard this and you did nothing ?  If there is coaches within the league that are doing this to 5/6 year olds and nothing has been done is insane. You should also remeber that you and the board are not the only ones that put in hours of time volunteering and spending time from their family as well. The STJFL has no reason but to survive as long as the league is ran according to the By Laws, why would it fail?  My last point is when you strap on that Go Pro make sure you wear it so that it is pointed straight at your face, because  like you said "why not wear a Go Pro to eliminate these adults that ruin such an event for children" .

Am I supposed to understand what this means? No clue -- and I have not once bashed any child's talent or lack thereof.

He is going to start a riot if he takes it upon himself to go around policing parents, getting in their face, etc. -- the tensions are already high as it is and he is being abusive. I don't condone the actions of parents who can't control their words or behavior but it is not up to him to tell them to stop! Once again, I don't have a problem with him videoing the game but it is when he uses the video to allege coaches have violated some vague and undefined rule and then won't show the video to that coach it becomes a problem. I love how some like to spin what people are trying to say.

Being a safety kind of guy the biggest issue I have seen from all of this nonsense happens when a team get tot the threshold and the team makes the changes to keep from scoring or running up the score. You put in the kids that are not as good but the team your playing is still headhunting with their first team kids... This is why my own son is still out with a concussion. Something has to be done in order to keep the kids safe. I have played and coached football a long time and know how violent it is. We are setting ourselves up for bigger problems down the road unless something it corrected.

We also need to address the helmet to helmet hits. Had more than 3 or 4 yesterday in one of our games... These are going to happen but the officials need to make the call. I spoke with the ones that were calling our game yesterday since I also our Heads Up Football Safety Coach. All 3 of them had a different interpretation of that rule. This has to be fixed...

I agree with this -- if a child gets hurt because of having to sub in due to the mercy rule yet another reason to rethink it.

Haha, the old classic "go pro riot technique." That statement gives us "insight" to your mentality. If filming you starts a riot, it would be common sense to believe you "incited" the riot.

No, I doubt Bobcat would ever feel the need to police me. Well, maybe I shouldn't hold my breath on that one since he takes it upon himself to be the master of security at all the games and he and others are known to fabricate details. I feel pretty certain if he puts that camera in the face of someone who is already trash talking or acting inappropriately than it will incite a riot. He just needs to leave that alone. By all means, video the game and review it until his little heart is content but don't edit it and than take it to the board to fabricate some alleged violation on a coach. Desperation at its best.

Lets see if its the same song and dance in 2020-2023. LOL

I'll take a 3 point loss to PNG any day for a running of the clock against VIDOR,LUMBERTON, and the all mighty Nederland. If that's any indication we are playoff bound on the small school side every year!! Just saying!!

cameras protect people. why do you think the police wear personal cameras now days.  it keeps people from making false claims and all the he said she said BS.

if he is being allusive it will be documented and vice versa.

sounds like you are upset because he has caught people violating rules on camera.

Haha, Take that laces. You just wait, in 8-10 years Bmt will be good when it counts.

But for now, let them have their blow out wins in junior league. We all know they just end up fighting for that 4th playoff spot come big boy football.

    • are you suggesting that if the football coach runs spring drills then the kids won't play fall ball without supervision?  Because if not, this argument has no relevance.  One doesn't take the place of the other.  one the AD has control of, the other he just tries to.
    • I don't think it is overly hyped.. I am seeing less and less multi-sport kids when it can all be prevented.. A coach teaches l loyalty, work ethic, comradery, integrity, perseverance, etc.. to get kids to buy into their program. They talk about brotherhood and doing what is best for their community.... But some mean all of this  just for football... Kids see into this double standard and will quit.. either while on the field or off...  drives me crazy!!  and again... I work with these kids.. they tell me what they think.. so you can agree or disagree.. its their point of view!!
    • Hmm..... I tend to disagree. I was a multi sport athlete in High School and am now a coach. Kid is not going to be a very good hitter if he only hits in the spring and summer, I took BP and threw (to keep my arm in shape) during football and basketball season. Kid is not going to be a very good QB, WR or DB if he only throws passes, runs routes or covers receivers in the fall or during a few 7 on 7 games after baseball is over. And a kid is never going to be good shooter of the basketball if he only shoots during the basketball season. Skills are honed, not mastered, they need to be developed and practiced repeatedly.
    • and I'll concede that this is more realistic.  but a good AD can make football the primary focus without messing with the success of other sports.
