Given the district they are in, they always get to contend ;)
Nederland would have finished 4th in that 3A district last year :)
Interesting assessment. Here are the facts:

HJ beat Ned last year.
Ned went 2-0 against WOS.
Ned went 2-0 against Silsbee.
;)

Back on topic: HJ (as always) will be fine next year. They will definitely make the playoffs, and I don't think anyone would be surprised if they finish 1st, 2nd, or 3rd.

An OLD friend (BD3) once said-it doesn't matter where you finish in district, it's what happens in THE REAL SEASON (playoffs)!

He's just mad about the summer tourney.  I have a question for Dogs and Dove.  Why do you think that 3-a district is so weak when it has Silsbee, WOS, and HJ and yet you dont feel the same about the 4-a district that has Ozen, Central, and Ned?
First off, Nederland beat HJ soundly by 20 this summer, unless you are remembering that one game @ HJ.. Oh yeah, im just livid ::) ;D

Second, are you insisting that I dont feel the same about 20-4A? How about ask my opinion first Mr. Guru.. Nederland also benefits from the district they are in, but wont have to worry about hiding behind that this year because the will contend with Central and possibly Ozen for the district championship again

Just as HJ will contend with Silsbee and West Orange
I've said it before, I think 4-A is weak. In fact, this side of the region is weak. Its up for grabs.......

You failed to mention that, in that glorious 20 point victory, Zjori Bosha and Dylan Mayes (starting post player) were absent for HJ

I didnt even want to focus on the summer games and  summer head to head matchups, but since you brought it up that "Im just mad about it," I put that out there.. Maybe Nederland would have won that game too if they incorporated cross country running

Okay seriously what's with the cross country thing??
Some sort of magical powers that HJ seems to concoct every season to win in their district.
Seriously?  Da Dove disapproves of cross country training for basketball players as not being sufficiently sport specific.  Different things work for different people/different teams.  Take a look at LeBrons physique-  The great majority of what you see is attributable to yoga.  On the other hand, I would suspect that Larry Bird, Oliver Miller, Boris Diaw and Big Baby Davis( to name a few) had much of a training regimen and still managed to do well in the NBA.

NO comparison of HJ to NBA.  The obvious point is there are many different ways to skin a cat.

    • We had the same type of rules when Coach Stone was at PNG.
    • I’m curious to see if this will happen next season .
