1.
Anything?  Anyone??  Can't get there till tomorrow
Friday:  Livingston 4 Center 1
2. It's way too early.  But... for the sake of having fun, I'll post my theoretical top ten, with wins-losses being the last consideration.  I'll use pitching depth, returning starters, and quality wins/schedule through one week. 1.  Nederland  2.  PNG 3.  LCM 4.  Baytown Lee  5.  Crosby 6.  Livingston 7.  GCM 8.  Jasper 9.  Vidor 10. Lumberton We'll see how these teams fare this week.
3. Things will indeed be interesting next year in 20AAAA.  A lot of talent graduating.  Obviously the programs with the deepest talent pools will be able to reload and stay competitive.  Those are of course are Nederland, PNG, and LCM.  If you've seen their JV and Sophomore teams play, then you know what I'm talking about.  The next tier would include Vidor, Livingston, and Lumberton who don't have the depth of talent year in and year out that the first 3 have.  They have to do more with less.  That being said, I don't see anyone running away from the pack next year.  I believe in the next 2 years the talent levels of the top 5 or 6 teams will be a little closer than in years past. We will be seeing a lot of new arms on the hill next year.  That will make it very difficult to prognosticate a district champ. In no particular order, with everyone healthy, I see the following 4 teams representing 20AAAA next year in the playoffs: LCM- returns 5 or 6 starters, lose Wadell Nederland- returns 4 or 5 starters, lose Bellow, Laird and outfield PNG- returns 5 starters, lose Sweetinham, Reyenga, Rhame, Deron Livingston- returns 7 starters, lose Phillips, Robinson Vidor- return 6 starters I believe, lose Trae and Michael Hester Lumberton- return 5 or 6 starters, lose Bingham and Erickson However, Vidor and Lumberton will disagree with me.  All 6 of these teams are legitimate candidates and anyone of those 6 teams could play their way in next year.
4. Was Brevell at Lumberton when current Boston Red Sox ace Clay Buckholtz was there?  Was Lumberton a 3A or 4A school then?  Did he stay after Buckholtz graduated?
5. You need to reassess your sources Phatmack.  Making accusations without verification or proof is slander.  The head baseball coach at Livingston has not missed any district meetings ever.  This year's meeting was held in Livingston because per district rules, the 5th place team hosts the meeting.
6. Wow.  What is going on?  There's still alot of players with two years of playoff experience on the field.
7. Livingston improves to 8-5 on the season and 2-0 in district play.  We will find out whether or not the Lions are contenders or pretenders in this upcoming 3 game stretch against PNG, LCM, and Nederland.  Any talk of Livingston making the playoffs is premature until they prove they can play with and beat the big boys.
8. Game was tied at 4 going into the top of the 6th.  Huffman scored 2 runs in the top of the inning off a 2 run homer. Game was called with 2 outs in the inning.  There is a 2 hour drop dead time limit for all tournament games and Huffman was the visiting team as a result of a coin flip.  Livingston was not able to get their final at bat.  Huffman has a very solid baseball team and will go deep in the playoffs this year.  All 9 hit the ball well and they've got some good arms.
9. Winning pitcher: Cass Ingvardsen District Record: 5 wins 9 losses
10. Your right. The same could easily be said. But they don't say it. Call it what you want. Difference is, they don't make excuses.
11. Well, I'm not a fan of excuses. Give kids credit win or lose.
12. Wow. You gotta be kidding me. Don't make excuses for them. Livingston travels to the Beaumont area 7 times to every 1 time a Beaumont area school travels to Livingston. You haven't heard Livingston making excuses this year when they lose one on the road. Orangefield got beat. That's the bottom line... And Orangefield coaches and players would say the same. They are a good baseball team and they don't need anyone making excuses for them.
