1. According to both LCM's and Livingston's schedules, LCM won that game 4-1.  So LCM is 2-2 in district and Livingston is 1-3.
2. Livingston's success thus far is not a surprise to any coaches in 20 4A.  They have seen this same group of Seniors for 3 years now as they were on the varsity as Sophomores, and as a previous poster said, right on the edge of the playoffs the last two years...sweeing PNG last year and 2 outs away from the playoffs last year against Vidor.  This was always going to be the year for this group from their first freshman practice.  I as said before the season, they returned the most starters of any team in the district, ( 8 out of 9), and returned their top 3 pitchers, who were arguably the best in the district.  They might finally be putting in all together at the right time.  They can make a deep run in the playoffs if they can lock up the #2 seed with their pitching depth.

Congrat's Vidor. A well deserved win but I'm afraid [glow=red,2,300]LCM is going to get credit (blame)[/glow] for Nederland's loss tonight because we made them play on Wednesday  instead of Tuesday. Again, good job.
Boys legs must have been tired from running around the bases and scoring all those runs ;)...But I guess the plan did work...Griff take that butt kicking so the Dogs would be tired from scoring 9 Wednesday..And Mean Green eased in the back door and took one  ;D Congrats To the V-Pirates and that pretty coach & Rex & Mean Green..Keep your head up dogs and win out the rest of the season..
You're absolutely correct.  One time around the base paths per starter (9 starters = 9 runs) will undoubtedly tire them out.  Perhaps the Nederland coach should look into some additional conditioning training for next year. Doesn't look to me that Coach Green eased into any back door to take a victory.  Looks to me that Eric Foshee slammed the door in the pups faces.  Good job Eric!!!
GOT HEEEEEEM !!  :o
4. Vidor's road to the playoffs goes through Livingston, Lumberton, Ozen and Central.  Greene's been in this district long enough to know how to get into the postseason tournament.  I would imagine that he would make sure and be aced up against Livingston and Lumberton and then go from there.  If Vidor can win those 4 games, there record will be 6-7 going into the final game @ Livingston with a shot at 4th place.
5. Well 20 4A district play finally opens tonight and there are some solid matchups on tap for the boys of spring...with PNG vs. Livingston being the marquee game.  Let's see those predictions for tonights action from you keyboard warriors willing to come out of your shadows and post.  :)  Nederland 10  Vidor 2    The Bulldogs will proove too hungry for those pesky Pirates. LCM 9    Lumberton 3    LCM has to much offense for the Raiders Ozen 13      Central 3    Ozen will take care of business PNG  6    Livingston 2    The pressure is on the Lions who won both matchups last year and are at home.                                  This will be a pitching and defensive dual with the Indians beating the war drums late. Good luck to everyone tonight!
6. They are talking about the Duplant kid who transferred to Nederland from H-J last year. Completely different district race last year if he doesn't land at Nederland.  He was the best #2 pitcher in the district as a soph.  He was arguably their best returning player as he would have been their ace/3b and middle of the lineup bat.  Without him, Nederland has taken a step back obviously.  It's very unlikely he will play varsity baseball in 20 4A this year unless it's at Nederland.  No way Nueman and Robbins sign off on his papf.  This year's district champ will be determined the last week of April.
7. Kingwood Park is closer to Beaumont than Livingston.  At the very least the same distance.
8. Admin, I agree with you on your assessment.  Barbers Hill and Kingwood Park will likely win their districts.  As will Bridge City and Huffman.  20 4A, as you, myself, and many others have stated, will be a week to week tug of war.  Nederland is the favorite going in... but Livingston, PNG, and LCM will all give them a run for their money and could conceivably take the crown.  Coaching primarily, along with pitching and returning experience with play major roles in deciding this year's 20 4A title.
9. Don't be afraid to stick your toes in the water boys.  It's just your opinion.  Surprised I haven't seen a reply from Adminbaberuth or Phatmack since they have seen most of these teams play.  I guess nobody wants to go on record?
10. Obviously, the rankings will shift around after a week of play and the opportunity for teams to show a little something.  Here's my updated 3a-5a after one week.  We'll see more movement next week...but the top 11 are pretty much set.  Give us your thoughts after a week of play. 1.  Barbers Hill 2.  Kingwood Park 3.  PNG 4.  LCM 5.  Nederland 6.  Huffman-Hargrave 7.  Livingston 8.  Bridge City 9.  GCM 10. Silsbee 11. Jasper 12. Westbrook 13. Splendora 14. Vidor 15. Hamshire-Fannett
11. No reason why Livingston can't compete for a district championship with those three in the rotation.  Will be interesting to see how the Lions and the rest of 20 4A look to initially pan-out after this weekend as tournament play ensues.  Maybe someone could post the schedule?
12. Wow.  That's a pretty good start for Ozen.  Yes, Orangefield has graduated a lot of talent the last two years and are down.  However, that's still an impressive indicator of Ozen's potential if they can gain some confidence and put it all together.  Tournament play will be tough on them because of the short pitching depth...but they will catch a couple of teams asleep at the wheel this year in district and be in the mix if they can simply reduce the un-forced errors and make their opponents beat them.
13. For those of us who would like to see some high school baseball this weekend.
14. Lot's of scrimmages to talk about from yesterday and today.  How'd your team and opponent look?
