It was mentioned about teams that hit wiffle balls onto the playing field---but how about those obnoxious teams that keep hitting practice balls into your teams warm up area over and over again.

I've always enjoyed watching the umpires change colors from a pale white to a pinkesh red when you give them an ice cold gatorade in the middle of a close hot game. It cant hurt your on a close play and it makes the other coaches go hmmmm. Gatorade needs to name a drink called "The Ultimate tie-breaker"

Lets try and list the moments and things that make travel ball extra special. My first thought is The sounds of "Pssst" coming from the ice chest after a long hot July-August tournament day. I call it the Umpires mating Call----LOL

Getting team ready for 8:00 AM games on wet sweaty fields with mosquitoes. The morning due tends to chap my behind.

Since you brought it up---Not so sure if they should be playing GOLD until they get some new players. They need a couple of young coaches to replace those over 50 dudes. They also would be better if other teams would keep recruiting their players away from them. but then again they are old enough to know better. ;D

I believe this is a good post. From a Rowdie perspective, Coach Brocato (Caesar) and the other coaches looked at a players leaving as an opportunity to upgrade. Usually when a player leaves for greener grass, there are some underlying reasons for that decision. If they are not happy, they are also not committed at that time. We lost a couple of talented players to new team under construction and eventually got them back. To get back on the team, they had to earn their acceptance and in a round about way, re-committ themselves and work their way back into the line up. In hindsight, Rowdie recovered quite well and became much more competitive. If the organization keeps its focus on what it has on the roster, sees every availability as an opportunity to upgrade, then things will work out. Caution to players that tend to team hop: One of our inside philosophies was that if a player hopped to too many teams, we were not sure we wanted to take the risk. Attitude is as important as talent. Coaches can do lots to improve the skills of a player with a good attitude. Geeze, I am starting to miss lots of this. But then again, fresh dead fish smell lots better than a dug-out at the end of a hot day in July - August.

Don't pick him he is already hurting enough right now. Just checdking on him---his mind seems to be working ok based on his poll posting.

"Whats the SETX Boundaries" Look at all the unfinished business that has been put on the back burner. Geeze Roll out the red carpet and bring our buddies back. They will know about this.
