  2. TD Poteet...21-14 starting the 4th. Aledo is driving.
  3. 3rd Qtr. starting...Poteet on offense 1st. Poteet's starting QB hurt in the 1st half...not looking like he will return. Poteet returns opening kickoff of 2nd half to 50.
  4. According to Tom Halliburton, the JV head coach at PNG, Ryan Cox, has NEVER lost a game and is becoming what some might call a "LEGEND". I'd say he's definitely next in line for a big time head coaching job. Does anyone know his all time record as a head JV coach? I don't care who you are or what level it is, 14 in a row is impressive! Somebody's been doin' some coachin'!
  5. PN-G is looking for a 9th grade B team game for week 0 on Thursday, August 26. Call 409-729-7644, ext. 1123 if interested.
  6. When you watch football on Saturday and Sunday, you never see teams "lining up at the 50" to walk across the field and shake hands. Why do all high school teams line up on the 50 to shake hands. Why don't they just walk across the field, shake hands with who you want to shake hands with, and go in? Lining up at the 50 to go shake hands reminds me of soccer, and we sure don't need to let that sport leak into football!!!
  7. Anyone happen to know who Barbers Hill is scrimmaging? When? Where? etc.
  8. The Westlake job isn't even open, nor will it be for a long time. That doesn't make any sense.
  9. Ya'll had exactly that with Danny Malone. And we could have it again with Chris Garrett! He has already had coaches from Plano, Allen and Duncanville that said they would go anywhere with him. Are you Garretts agent? : Give it a rest already. You do realize that we don't get a say in who they choose. You are lobbying to the wrong people! Besides if you look at the programs Faircloth has coached at you would see the same. Westlake and Highland Park are synonymous with Championships as is Permian. Faircloth hasn't won any championships. Faircloth was on the staff at Highland Park when they won the state championship in 2005. Since he has been at Permian the last 3 years, they have gone 33-6 and lost one district game. They have finished 10-0 twice in the that 3 year span. He would be the BEST hire for PNG...hands down!!! Their district is probably the weakest district in Texas. You're a fool if you think that is one of the weakest districts in Texas.
  10. I guess OU should have told Stoops, "Sorry, Bob, you are too young to lead this team." Instead, they hired a young, energetic, and innovative head coach who surrounded himself with great coaches and went to work. I think it worked out pretty well for them.
  11. PNG seems like a nice house that just needs a new coat of paint and a good facelift. The structure is there...it has all the parts...someone just needs to come in and hang some new pictures on the wall and upgrade all the parts. Sorry for the analogy, but it's the best I could do. I think a growing trend with many programs like this is to hire a young, energetic, up-and-coming coach and surround him with great people to get the job done. I don't know who PNG is interviewing, but I hope they find a young guy with enthusiasm and passion...maybe a coordinator of a good 4A or 5A program to come in with some new, fresh ideas to get it going.
