  1. Didn't see the SFA game, but saw the Sam Houston on Friday night.  The physical play was what I noticed, especially in the second half. Sam may have been passing to one another a little better, but the Lamar players were pushing them around more and more as the second half wore on.  Lamar got the win that time.
  2. Congrats, RIP!  Seems she is getting into the swing of things with new team...glad you got to see this one!
  3. Think your prediction was pretty good, RIP!  I hadn't examined everyone's scores too much till now (not having a family member playing) , but realized Prairie View wasn't a good game to mention....they had lost all of theirs when I checked.  A workout for Bianca.  UTSA has some good players, and a lot of them are sophomores.  But didn't have what it took against SFA!  Congrats!  My daughter watched part of the game and saw Zuri play some.  Whats the prediction for San Marcos?  And how about Sam vs. UTSA on Sunday? Have you heard if Kaitlyn is getting to play at all?
  4. I don't know if you want to miss that UTSA game...read the rundown on their game with Prairie View and I think it is a tough team!  Beat Prairie View 7-0 . I think! Bianca doing her best....maybe you can get a good view online.
  5. Heard that they won the gold!  Congrats to the girls, the coaches, and the persevering parents!  (It doesn't happen without parents!)
  6. I count 6 on the South squad that have played for SSSC 92/93G. Brianna Tamayo played 1 year.  Think they have some great players in that group, too, but North does look stronger.  I echo what watash and rip have said...the soccer strength of girls in this area can be traced back to Mike Hughes' original team.... Thanks, Coach Mike!
  7. Lizzie Florece from West Brook is going.  Congratulations and good luck!
  8. Great job, Natalie!  I thought that the Enterprise article did a good job in highlighting what a combination of talent and dedication there is in this player.  I wish you well at Houston Baptist!
  9. Congratulations to you, Bailey!  Think I might be watching some Lamar soccer this fall....your family will also enjoy having you close to home so they can catch all the home games, I know.  It has been great watching you play over the years and especially coming back after injury like you did. Like others, want to point out that Bailey was one of the original team members of Mike Hughes' Spindletop team, playing on that team for (I believe) 5.5 years before moving on to Albion where she has had opportunity to play in the Premier League West.    The development she received on both teams was surely valuable in helping her become the great goal keeper she is!
  10. Congrats to PNG!  I liked the 2 goals apiece for seniors Miller, Hager, and Chiasson. Great group.
  11. A great thing to have a 5A play-off game at home!  Come out and support the Lady Bruins Tuesday night!
  12. Senior night Friday, March 18 for WB girls. Last home game for: Hannah Babin, Megan Castle, Cathy Florece, Lizzie Florece, Laura Gallegos, Lisl Ost, and Chasity Wilson. Recognition at 630, game at 7 pm.
  13. Awesome!! ...I know it would have been great to see .  Congrats to PNG and to Natalie!!
  14. Deer Park 2, West Brook 1. West Brook looked pretty good, but not good enough! Coach played entire team, lots of subbing. I am sure he has a plan there...
  15. Congratulations, Haley!  You have worked so hard and seemed to always have a lot of fun at it, too!  Now Dad will have an entire college team to take care of.....
  16. Although I was not at this game, I also have heard that Nederland is using two keepers this year....Bianca is a valuable field player for them when she plays on the field. I believe they graduated some good talent last year....this in addition to injuries and adjustment to a new coach.
  17. Congrats to Zuri, Chloe, Natalie, and Amanda!  ....and all of the soccer players that are about to sign ...I know how hard they have all worked at soccer.  Many times you have to pass on something else you might want to do to train, practice, or go to a game.  It is good practice for your future, whatever it may be!  In addition to all of the hard work at soccer, it takes someone a fair amount of effort to get the attention of college coaches and follow up to see that the player is noticed. Also, you have to achieve a certain level of proficiency in academics so that the colleges want you!! So congrats to the teachers, parents, and coaches who helped make it happen!! I know that playing college soccer has been Zuri's and Natalie's intention for a long time, and am really happy they will get this opportunity.
  18. I agree with sportzgirl...PNG on top for girls, then Lumberton and possibly Nederland.  After that, not so sure.  The Jasper tsunami is set to hit in about 5 years, right?  Have some great players that would be seniors this year....not sure how many are playing at this time....
  19. Brandeis 1, West Brook 0. Heard they gave the WB keeper a workout with a lot of shots from midfield.
  20. WB girls play alumni at 7 pm this Friday, January 7th.
