  1. Had to post this Pick from the BH sports Report of the fan base at the Crosby game!!! BH Crowds are really starting to come toghether exspecially this year. Kudos to the Moms that have put together the cheer section yall are making some noise!!!!
  2. BH's JV seems to be doing well. I think they are 4-1 losing 20-6 to Forest Brook.
  3. Football: Barbers Hill hopes to keep it rolling vs. New Caney Move up to Class 4A agrees with Barbers Hill By TODD HVEEM Chronicle Correspondent At the beginning of the 2006 football season, the Barbers Hill Eagles were picked to finish no better than third in the District 21-4A standings, and with good reason. Barbers Hill, despite all of its success at the Class 3A level, was making the jump to 4A football for the first time in school history. It would be asking a bit much for the Eagles to win a district title right off the bat. Or would it? "I would have to say Barbers Hill is the team to beat right now," said Galena Park head football coach Ray Zepeda. "I think on any given night, anybody can still beat anybody (in this district). But I would have to say Barbers Hill is the favorite." New Caney head coach Jim Taylor agrees. "Barbers Hill has such great tradition and is so talented," Taylor said in a recent interview. "They have to be at least one of the favorites going in." Barbers Hill head coach Don Price doesn't want to hear such nonsense. "It is nice to hear those kind of comments," Price said. "But we have only played one district game. We will know more about us (in weeks to come)." Price's quote came right before the Eagles ran their record to 5-0 overall and 2-0 in District 21-4A play with a 10-0 victory over Crosby. Barbers Hill will try and remain undefeated when it hosts surprising New Caney at 7 p.m. Friday. The Eagles, who dropped non-district games to Lumberton, Livingston and Huntsville, also enter the game 2-0 in league play after last week's 14-11 victory over Smiley. "New Caney is playing well," Price said, "but I am not surprised by that. I thought C.E. King, Crosby, New Caney and Galena Park all had a chance to be very good football teams." New Caney opened district play with a 49-28 win over Huffman — a game the Eagles once trailed 21-0. "That was a big win for them, but I don't know if there are any surprises in this district," Price said. "You have to come ready to play every Friday night or you are going to get beat." Barbers Hill has outscored its first five opponents 128-39 in rolling to a perfect 5-0 start. The Eagles knocked off Wharton, Jasper and Bellville in non-district play before opening conference action with a 35-13 win over Forest Brook. The key to the Eagles' offensive attack has been the play of quarterback Blake Patton and running back Todd Patton. Blake Patton hit Mason Fisher with a 64-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter of last week's win over Crosby. "I am really pleased with Blake," Price said. "He has moved to quarterback and done an excellent job. He has done great for a guy who never played it until this year. "We haved improved a little bit every week. We have to protect the football and not give up any big plays. We have to play that way to win. We have to play smart football and be error-free." New Caney is paced by quarterback Phillip Welch, who has accounted for more than 650 yards in the first five games. Also, C.J. Dunlap has rushed for 135 yards and three scores in the win over Huffman. "This is a big test for us," Price said. "We are going to have to play real well to win it. "We have played at least one 4A team in non-district every year I have been the head coach. I think that has helped us with the transition, but it is really too early to tell. We still have a lot of football left to be played."
  4. Deal Bearkat, From now on I'll wait three days before posting after a bad game  This is a touchy subject and I will let it die if everyone else will. New week, New game time to show New Caney who can hold the only title of Eagle!!!!
  5. Ok last post on coaching!! You have your Opinions and I have mine. I'm completly wrong the Coaching is great and we have no atheletes. Goodluck Eagles and Coaches 8)
  6. One quetion If we have an outstanding staff as some of you have pointed out then why can't we get any where in the playoffs???? Are you really that impressed with BH's records against one of the worst 3A districts in the state?? Do you think that our kids are really that untallented??? I understand that some of you know a coach on the team and that is why you are on here defending them (Which you should) , but these guys receive pay checks and have a job just like everyone else. If you don't perform then you look for the next job. I'm not saying these guys are bad people I'm sure they are all great, but again I work with some very nice people that don't do thier job. Coaching at a whole in BH is absoulutly teriffic!!!!! The play calling is what baffels me I just can't understand after someone sits down and studies a team for an entire week through film and stats comming out and running the ball 44 times and picking up 45 yards!!!!! I just would like to see one day for the BH offense to catch up with the Defense. The reson for the past 7 years BH's record has been so good is because of great defensive coaching and kids! The offense struggles every year and is exposed in the playoffs.
  7. Barbers Hill has a 150.69 QB rating Blake Patton - 60 of 91 for 858 yards and 1 interception  Blake is a heck of an athelete! This is his first year playing QB!!!
  8. Kvilleballa, I'm sure you can concure with what is being said. BH made the Kville Coaching staff look like geniuses!!!!!! k-ville is an average 3A team, but when they play the Hill they look like a State Contender!!! Next round K-ville gets hammered by 30 against a team the goes to the next round and gets Hammered. No Way BH is this bad folks NO WAY!!!!! Give this team to Coach Hooks (WOS) or Barbay (NEWTON) and BH would clean house!!! I counted on the field one day that we had 13 to 17 Coaches on the field. one of these guys has to be able to call better plays and I'm sure they bite their lip every game. Please Coach put some new blood in the press box and lets see what happens!!!!!
  9. New Caney is up and down it seems. They score 49 on Huffman then score 14 on Smiley?????? New Caney has a large enrollment so they should be able to put fresh bodies in all night. The BH Defense will do what they do best and keep them in check. The Offense will do well if the play calling and snapping problems are solved. Coaches Hint: If you run up the middle 20 times for 5 yards this means the Defense knows whats coming If you have a 6'4" all district reciever gaurded bya 5'4" corner in single coverage toss the rock Go get'em Eagles!!! BH that is
  10. hey BIG HOUSE in case you didn't notice compairing teams in HS football of who beat who doesn't mean jack!!!! Vidor still looks better than the undefeated 7 th graders (Except for the Dayton game)
  11. Ok who wins this one folks??? comments??? BH is 2-0 in district and New Caney is 2-0.
  12. Broncos by 14!! Vidor should be the best team Dayton has faced in district so far.
  13. Write up from the Eagle sports report Barbers Hill got a 64 yard touchdown pass and the defense made it stand as the Eagles defeated Crosby 10-0. Barbers Hill is now 5-0 on the season and 2-0 in District 21-4A. The defense played an outstanding game. They recorded 2 turnovers in getting their first shut out of the year. Daniel McSwain recovered a fumble and Todd Patton intercepted a pass deep in Eagle territory. The Eagles were only threatened once but a missed played snap from center and a fourth down block of a pass by Steven Vara ended the Couger hopes. By the way, this was Vara's first game back after suffering a knee and arm injury in the Jasper game. Barbers Hill's lone touchdown was light a bolt of lightening on a clear day. The Cougar defense had mirroring the Eagles effort on the night. With just over 5 minutes left in the second quarter, Crosby had just stopped the Eagle offense for a slight loss and BH was faced with third and eight. Blake Patton dropped back and found Mason Fisher along the left sideline. Fisher snatched the ball, made a quick move to the middle and sprinted to the goal line for a 64 yard touchdown. Nick Coggin converted the extra point. Though not as impressive as a long touchdown pass, the Eagle's next score was just as important. The offensive was able to put together an impressive drive that all but ended the game. After Joe Sexton and Kyle Cox stopped the Cougar QB a yard short of the first down marker, Barbers Hill got the ball just inside their own 30 yard line. The time on the clock read 9:34 when Blake Patton took the first snap after the Cougar punt. Slowly the Eagles began to march down the field. Twice the Eagles faced a third down and long. Both times Blake Patton would find brother Todd for first down catches. Barbers Hill offense would drive to the Crosby 1 and had a fourth and goal. Coggin was called upon and he drilled an 18 yard field goal. The clock now read 2:01 and the Visitors lead 10-0. Game Over! Despite a nice kick return, the defense was not in a giving mood. The D shut the door; the O ran out the clock. And a big road win was in the book. District 21-4A Games C.E. King 36 Forest Brook 6 Galena Park 49 Huffman-Hargrave 7 New Caney vs Smiley
  14. congrats Dayton take district !!!!!!!!
  15. Where can I buy my BOJO T-Shirt??????????
  16. THe BH Defense rulled . And still the offensive play calling sucked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The center did kill us tonight with bad snaps ,but again we threw two times to Fisher one for a TD and the other for a bubble screen. Our coaches need to be more aggressive!!!! BH could have won 21 -0 easy tonight if it wasn't for poor play calling. BH did win tonight and most should be happy, but if we don't get better play calling a snapping of the ball we are in trouble!!!! Props to Crosby on playing good defense against our horrible offense.
  17. You poor guy  I'm ditching the kids and wife tonight
