If a FBS Lamar was 3-6, would not PUS bring in a packed house if the next game was against Okie st or Baylor?  The answer is yes even if we all knew Lamar was going to lose. If Lamar could move up when Lamar felt it was time to move up, I would not stress so much. However, this is not a Lamar decision to pick and choose a time to go FBS. However again, Lamar can choose not to ever move up.
One sold out game  ::)
Is not that one game sold out against Ok. st better than a small crowd to see Bacone?

Wow. Time flies.q
You guys are very short-sighted. Other than F BS, the SBC is nearly a mirror image of the SLC. Lamar moving to the SBC will not see a huge jump in talent outside football. Your fear is unfounded. However the press Lamar will get in the SBC is priceless. I was living in Las Vegas during the Lamar/SBC years. Lamar games were on the big board at Caesar Palace, every night. SLC then and now are not put on the big board. Lamar doesn't get the big time exposure in the SLC. The exposure gets the better recruits. I remember Lamar was playing a high ranked school in MBB. They were giving Lamar 28 pts on the spread. I knew Lamar would get beat, but not by 28. Lamar made a lot of sports fans a lot of money that night.
Did the spread help fill the stands and get good recruits?
Heck yes. Recruits in the SBC days were much better than Lamar is getting in the SLC. Lamar left the SBC as a middle to low SBC team then won the SLC tourney for the NCAA in the first year. AM-CC did the same. New schools never bring the SLC up, the SLC brings them down. You have to be short sighted not to see that trend.

 6.
LU just got of the Sun Belt a few years ago. Can't compete in SLC yet  ::) ::) ::) ::)
And if Lamar was dominating the SLC, then the argument would be why leave a conference we dominate. Lamar has it's own media market in an area of more than 400,000. SHSU would love to have what we have yet Lamar and Lamar many fans would rather self down Lamar to a Nichols st, SELA, or a SFA. Those schools would not do the same if they were in the the mid-size market and it's own media market. I'm sure Lamar and fans look like Stupid fools in their eyes.
 7.
just saw  the  video...didnt hear anywhere that lamar got an invite to the sun belt..
You don't need an invite to make it clear you won't accept it.
 8. [Hidden Content] I am sick with disappointment. The same small minds that dropped football are flexing their muscles. Is it the fumes from Mobile behind this mental illness?
 9. No link, but a local news media reported Lamar has decided to not accept an invitation to the Sunbelt. I so hope this is not true.
 10. Who would win between Lamar and Lamar st?
 11. The happiest places are losing population while saddest places, like Houston, is growing in population. Yes, Beaumont is growing too.
 12.
Somebody shut this thread down. Enough is enough. You guys that get on here and bash kids...classless.
It was classless to destroy the credibility of the WRS award with a symbolic media feel good story.
 13. Next years WRS award will have it's first gay winner, the next year will have it's first girl, then first asian, first 6 man winner.... All PC, WRS the big equalizer, Obama's fairness policy at play. SOCIAL JUSTICE FOR ALL.
 14. Vidor kids never won a WRS award. The media pissed on the credibility of the WRS award to create a feel good story. A slap in the face to that super WOS defense and powerhouse Nederland offense. The WRS award is for kids with the potential to be the next Jamal Charles or Earl Thomas. What's next? A High Island kid wins because daddy caught a fish at the beach. This is not this kids fault, the media should find the nearest dumpster and jump in. They ruined a tradition.
 15. No one will take this award serious again. Maybe that is the plan. Why isn't LSU or UT knocking on this kids door? Reminds me of that lone college kid being on the first dream team. The media voting....I guess it made for a great inspirational story for a guy from Vidor winning it all in the face of all this great talent in SETX. The media is corrupt.
 16. Kalis is gone after this year, hopefully to the pro's. Lamar needs scorer's.
 17.
Something else that needs to be considered is this, Booker is already there and maybe the team have greater needs than recruit another small pg.
5'6" is not small in WBB. Not large, but not small.
 18. We'll see. I bet she ends up at a lesser school than Lamar. A 5'6"-7" guard averaging 25pts and 5 steals per game.
 19. No, but if she was, she would be signed by now. A few stats. [Hidden Content]
 20. [Hidden Content] Why isn't SETX second best player being considered?
 21.

Southland Conference announces addition of Abilene Christian, Houston Baptist, Incarnate Word and University of New Orleans starting July 1.
Abilene Christian is about to take over Southland Conference football soon. Watch and see.  ;)
Who cares? Lamar will be gone.
 22. Wooohooo....win out, win the tourney, then go dancing...simple
