  1. This is going to be a good game. Of course every week is going to be a good game because we have no idea of what to expect from the opposing team. This is 4A and every team can bring it. Crosby has always had tons of talent. It is just a matter of if they can put it all together and keep it together the entire game. I agree that this will be BH's biggest test so far this year in an actual game situation. I to think people are under estimating the Hill's defense. They are even better than their points allowed shows due to the late quarter scoring. Our offense is no doubt getting better every snap. I am going to go with my obviouse favorite here and "THE HILL". BH 27 Crosby 14
  2. We killed our limits Saturday morning (4). We killed 2 birds Sunday, and 2 birds yeasterday. We were hunting Trinity Bay around Long Island and Crazy Cut.
  3. OK here is my opinion for this week. I am not impressed with either of Bellville wins. They won big, but both teams are down. In Sealy’s scrimmage against Giddings they got scored on like 8 or 9 times. I also hear that WC is having a down year. One thing everyone is forgetting is the fact that we are returning 10 on defense from a pretty outstanding team from 2005. There is a lot of experience on that field. Now the 10 are not always on the field, but they are we it counts. I do not think Bellville is going to fair much better than our two previous opponents offensively. As far as our offense goes we have definitely not been playing like we are capable of. If and when this team gets it going they can put up so points. If we keep playing like we are we will win by 14 or 21 points. If our offense starts playing like they are capable of we will win by 21 or 28 points. I am not really worried about their offense verses our defense. BH will win that battle. It is just a matter of how many points we can score over 21.
  4. 8) Cool.......................................................................... 8)
  5. The fun part of my double spacing madness is by the time you get to the end of my post you forget what you have read. Let me state this…… again. Very rarely will you read one of my posts about what plays I think our coaches should call or what players they use. I leave that for Jody and others. I just don’t understand why people get upset when they do it because I feel they have every right to their opinion. They are entitled to their opinion just like you. You know some times they may have been right and if you think not tell them why not, don’t just do it to defend a coach explain why you agree with the play calling. There is no rule on this forum that states this is just a rah, rah, rah go BH forum. Now since you think I know so much about football given all of the football knowledge I have never shared with setxsports posters here goes. There are so many factors when it come to winning a State Title. I could sit here and type for days on how, and why. Sorry it is not worth the argument. But contrary to what you think I would not blame it all on coaching or not having enough talent. I’ll just give you two words why I think it has not happened POLITICS and MONEY and we all know BH has the money. Ouch…..that’s going to hurt!! Wow not exactly the answer you were expecting huh. We could blame it on the coaching, but it all starts at the top with the school board. You might agree and you might not. Just like I told DSW you have some what of an idea how I look and where I sit. If you want a face to face opinion come look me up.
  6. There is that 95% again. They might keep their opinion to their selves for that reason, or because they don’t know enough about the game to make a comment or they just like to rah, rah, rah. Just like mhs32 has said before “this is not rocket science it’s just football.†It is just a matter of X’s and O’s. Now I do believe some coaches are definitely better at it than others. It is kind of like you get what you pay for. The coaches that put more into the team as far as off season and then you have to have the players that are willing to give it their all and then there is the talent factor. Then lets not forget you have to have all of the cards fall your way as far as injuries and that is where the being lucky part comes in. As far as the kids reading this board I have asked many, of them and they all say it doesn’t bother them. If anything it motivates them to work harder and play harder. As far as any of us being more knowledgeable about the game of football, I don’t think any of us can hold a candle to the great Coach Price and his staff. They have how many state titles under their belt. I think Skidmore has one, but yet he has forgotten more football than we will ever know….We have heard that one before. When it comes to district though, buddy they can get them, and if that makes you happy than good. Myself I don’t make many comments about how they coach and what they should have done. Because I don’t really think it matters. I do though reply when people gripe about some one making a comment about a play we run. It is their opinion. Here we go again. If you think different don’t question them for doing it. Expel some of your great knowledge of the game on them or you can just sit back and rah, rah, rah if you like.
  7. Yeah it is going to be fun to see how everything plays out this year.
  8. I am glad to see you all understood what I was saying. After reading all of the post on here I have come to this conclusion about my predicition of BH by 3 TDs. I still say the Hill by 3 TDs and if I am wrong I'll be back to take it. But if I R right. Well............... I'll see you then. Go Barbers Hill!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. I am going to go with the Hill. I think were are playing a lot better now than we did against WOS. For one thing we now have 3 key players back in the secondary where they belong. The D line is getting better every week. WOS moved the ball better on Dayton than they did on us and now we have a better secondary so the D is playing well. On the offensive side we are also getting better. Although I would not say we are any where close to where we need to be. We are definately getting better and will improve each week. I think we will not have a real problem with Jasper. If their D is strugling our O should be able to put up some points. Their O is struggling and I hear Jasper is a running team and our D is playing good against the run. I am going to take the Hill 28 to 7. Wouldn't it be something if BH beat Jasper and Jasper beat WOS. Hmm... I wonder where this will go from here.
  10. So has any one been out scouting for teal season. If so give us an update on the amount of bird being seen and where. There are some birds in the marsh near Jack Pocket. Seems to be a fair number for this early. I can't wait till the opener.
  11. (Here is the Baytown Sun's right up of the game.) BH rolls to easy win over Wharton By Jerry Michalsky Baytown Sun Published September 3, 2006 PEARLAND — Coming into Saturday night’s contest the Barbers Hill Eagles figured to have a tough time with Wharton. After all, the Tigers had 14 starters coming back from last year’s team and were ranked No. 5 in the Greater Houston Area. No one told the Eagles, as Barbers Hill took an easy 23-6 victory over the Tigers at “The Rig.†“I thought our kids played hard all the way through and the effort was always there,†said Barbers Hill head coach Don Price. “We came out with some first night jitters but once we worked those out we were OK.†After the teams traded possessions for most of the first quarter it was the Eagles who put together a nice drive. Using the arm and legs of Blake Patton, Barbers Hill went 64 yards on nine plays with Patton scoring from a yard out with only 11 seconds to go in the quarter. Leading 7-0 heading into the second quarter the Eagles defense started to assert themselves, causing the first of five turnovers. Derek Hulsey would fall on a Tiger fumble giving his team the ball at the Wharton 28-yard line. Barbers Hill would drive down to the Tiger 4 line before Wharton would hold, setting up a Nick Coggin 24-yard field goal and a 10-0 lead. Wharton looked as if they were going to get on the board before the first half ended by driving all the way down to the Eagle 12-yard line. Jonathan Delgado halted the drive though by picking off a Joel Ansley pass. Early in the third quarter it was once again the defense who would set up the Barbers Hill offense in great field position. Kyle Cox pounced on a Wharton fumble giving the Eagles the ball at the Tiger 18-yard line. After a bad exchange from center on first down moved Barbers Hill back to the 22-yard line, it was Blake Patton hitting Michael Davis on a 22-yard touchdown pass. Davis caught the pass at the 10, cut to the right and slipped into the end zone for the Eagle touchdown. “There are two guys who are both playing in new positions for us and scoring a touchdown,†added Price. Joe Sexton then got into the act by picking off a Ansley pass to end another Wharton drive. The Eagles then went on their second 64-yard scoring drive on the night, this time needing only seven plays as Todd Patton scored from a yard out for a 23-0 Barbers Hill lead with 4:14 left in the third quarter. Wharton would finally get on the board as Ansley hit Jamail Shelton from nine yards out on the first play of the fourth quarter. “It was a nice way to start the season off,†said Price. “The coaches did a good job of getting our kids prepared for their speed.†For the game the Eagles put up 265 yards of total offense. Blake Patton was 12 for 16 through the air for 119 yards while Todd Patton rushed for a game high 129 yards on 22 carries. Barbers Hill will head to the piney woods next Friday as they travel to Jasper to tangle with the Bulldogs. Game time is 7:30 p.m.

  13. There was one year when Reggie White played for Liberty they beat Stafford 63 to like 61 or something close. Stafford also had an exceptional player playing QB that year. I don't remember who he was though. I think his Dad played for the Oilers or something. It was suppose to be some kind out high scoring record. I also watched Houston Madison play Northshore with Jody and BHFAN when VY played and the score was like 62 to 59. It was not that neither the didn't have a defense it just was both theams had incredable offenses.
