Prior Coach would not allow a run through.(9 years he did not allow a run through). He denied multiple requests from the team to let them have one and sponsors willing to buy one. (Woodville lost his first game with the run through and he decided the run through was bad luck). No one has stepped up to sponsor one yet for the new coach. Back on topic: Woodville can even the record at 1 and 1 (same as last year after two games). Anahuac can level at 1 and 1. These two schools have met as District foes quite a bit recently until Woodville's drop to D-II. Looking for a good game. Woodville's OL and DL need experience. Go Eagles.

You just made that up. No basis for this statement at all. Why did the admin run him off? Need specific examples please? Was it the Board, if so name of member? Was it the Super? HS principal was his wife. Was it her?

They are wrong. Coach Robinson is a good coach. He won more games, at a higher rate, for a longer period of time than anyone else has at Woodville. He won across multiple graduating classes. Over his 9 years here, he averaged about 9 wins a season. For Setxfan- liking the new coach and wanting the program to be successful doesn’t mean the old coach was bad.

Not sure if sarcasm is here or not. We lost by 28 to Gunter with what was probably the best team (top to bottom) Woodville ever fielded. We also lost to Anahuac last year. Note: Coach Houston’s 82 was damn good.

Three (3) TSWA/Dave Campbell All-State defensive players are not on this team. Three All-Staters on a 3A D-II team are season changers. Most of the O-Line graduated. This is not the same team as last year. We will finish with a good season but anyone thinking we are automatic to return to state are not reasonable. We went to State on defense. We dominated the line of scrimmage at the start of each playoff game and took control of the games defensively.

Yes. Although last year we lost to Anahuac and beat Diboll. I predict two losses during the regular season. D-II changed everything. In D-I we would have lost in second round. D-II we went to state. I knew the competition level would decrease but the bottom was gone. Daingerfield had a bad game in the Regional finals but we weren’t challenged until Tidehaven We lost a lot on the O and D lines. If the younger OL guys don’t gel they can’t protect the qb

New Oline and Dline. Will take some time to gel and learn on the Oline. We will be alright. Most likely 8-2 at end of regular season.

Woodville will have a good season. My prediction is we will finish 8-2 (loss in nondistrict and Newton) our District is weak after Newton and us). Possibly 9-1 if the ball bounces our way What was Coach Robinson’s record before Woodville (was it impressive)? If you applied all your previous comments about the new guy to Coach Robinson (before Woodville hired him) you would have been against Coach Robinson being hired. Let’s see where the next 2-4 seasons go.

Setx fan, I removed an earlier message because I thought better of it but you keep downing the Coach. You have not met him, talked to him, discussed a scheme, been to an Elgin game, know who he will bring with him. How do you know so much more than anyone else? If you know so much put yourself in a position to make a decision. Board signups start in July. Why are you so negative on him. Note: no rumors of anyone on the current staff leaving Woodville to follow the old Coach.
