Mart can play with all of them.  played a tough schedule to prepare for a tough playoff run without a lot of starters on defense.  Coming together as of late.  Very productive offense.

Mart has not had much trouble turning anything into points.  West Sabine is a good football team as is Alto and San Augustine.  On any given night the one that plays the best will win.  Tradition or no tradition it will all be decided on the field and not on these boards so I would not let anyones talk irritate you so.  ;D  I have seen all the teams play in region 3 with the exception of HD.  Will see them this friday p.m..  Any of the others have a shot on any given day. 

I will say this...... the Evadale coaches and kids are a class act all the way......... I wish you the best in all the remaining sports this year and your return of a very young team next year.......  Remember you do not get to pick  your district so control all you can control which is win them all every year and give your best in the playoffs..... I also hope #33 is feeling better and will be alright with the neck injury ! congrats on your season......

I went to this game and Lovelady's stud rb did not even play as he had gotten into a fight and was suspended for a game.  The Lovelady JV played almost the whole second half.  Lovelady was rolling.  #35 for HD plays hard and has alot of heart but HD was no match for the Lions in any phase of the game. Congrats Lovelady

Mart has played on wet turf all year and there have been no problems.  Everyone be safe driving to H'ville.

It's hard to say..... I felt they were more talented than last years team but have had a massive number of injuries and all the flu/strep stuff through the middle of the season.  The last two weeks they finally got most of their skill players back and seem to be on a roll.  They have been in every game to the end.  Goldthwaite scored with 1:17 left to beat them and Mart played withouth their qb.  Lovelady picked off a pass around the ten yard line and made what was the tying score drive a 14 point victory.  They lost to Lexington by 7 and again the qb and top receiver and rb did not play.  So it is hard to say.  When they played without their top players the others stepped up and played hard and just came up a bit short.  But in the games where they have had everyone they have rolled....  Marlin 35-0/ Teague 63-0/Riesel 41-7 / Dawson 44-0.  So hopefully they are healthy and will continue to show up and play well.  The games against Normangee and Bremond coach sat out five of the skill kids with knee and ankle injuries in an effort to get well for the playoffs.  So our backups have some really good playing time under their belt.  I expect a good game from both Evadale and Mart.

HD 9 Is the basis of your comparison of this years mart team to last years mart team on their record or have you seen them play?

Must have been before this staff's reign as I have never seen a reverse, much less a double reverse, nor a flea-flicker. This staff has been there for four years I believe.

There is a very loud train horn on a golf cart, but I have to say I have not seen them "run it up" on anyone.  In fact the last two weeks they have subbed big time in the second halfs and even kneeled out on the three yard line rather than hangin' half a hundred on Dawson.  So I'm not so sure on them smelling blood and trying to run the score up on anyone.  Seemed to be a first class team in that regards. 

With a defense only giving up 5.3 points a game.... You gotta think they will win this one.  Surely all ten teams on their schedule are not offensively challenged?  Defense wins championships.

Evadale sure has alot of shut outs though.  Maybe they have the defense to get this done?

Lies and untruths don't get us hyped... but I guess that's just the way we see it. Best of luck to you and your teams!

Marts head coach said none of the sort. Do your kids really require your lies to fuel them for the game? You have no locker room material because Mart does not talk "trash" to their opponents and especially not their coaches so you post "blatent lies" ? It is one thing to support and pump your team.... but it is another to take a mans reputation and character and create quotes or statements for that coach. Mart respects HD and expects this to be a great game...... Cook is a great Rb and HD has some great athletes with which we will be challenged.... Again, we will show up and we will play hard..... but give me a break from the "bs" about Marts coach said this or Mart said that as that is not true. tram or mart whichever way you read it.............

Trust me.....nobody in Mart looks past anyone.... they have been in it too long and have too much playoff experience to do that......if Mart gets beat it's because they got beat and not because of a message board or any "overlooking" of anyone. They will have alot of respect for HD and will play the game as it is which is "sudden death" if ya lose...........
