  1. Wow over 70 in the shot put and 200 in the discuss. Has anyone besides Michael Carter ever done that? Looked it up on TexasTrack myself. Shot Put 81-3½ Michael Carter Dallas Thomas Jefferson 1979 72-2¼ Hayden Bailio Whitesboro 2009 71-2 Roger Roessler Round Rock 1996 Discus 208-8 Roger Roessler Round Rock 1996 204-8 Michael Carter Dallas Thomas Jefferson 1979 202-11 Hayden Baillio Whitesboro 2009 Only 3 people to ever do that in Texas. Very impressive. Hitch, is that Baillio kid a senior?
  2. 1. Lufkin Hudson 12-0 2. Carthage 11-1 3. Jasper 8-4 4. Diboll 5-6 5. Huntington 4-7 6. Central 4-8 7. Center 3-9 8. Rusk 0-12 If these records are correct then Diboll not only has to beat Jasper and one more opponent but hope that Jasper also loses to Center in their final district game.
  3. Jasper 9 runs so far in the 5th. Couple errors on Huntington and then the wheels fall off for them.
  4. Yes new stands will be installed on the visitors side and it will be the home side along with new concessions, bathrooms, scoreboards..the works.
  5. The idea of hiring a linebacker makes me excited I remember the good old days when Jasper had some defenses that rivaled the Chain Gang. Maybe even a year or two where ours was a better.
  6. And with 2 district losses they can ill afford another loss. Losing the SS is a back breaker for them I fear. He was an outstanding defensive player.
  7. Triple by Parker P. drives in Alvis 4-2 Jasper
  8. This is usually a very good game.
  9. I assume you have more state championship that HJ does then.
  10. And one brother is a player for Ponder while the brother is the coach at Krum (the only team to beat Ponder this year). Good video out there somewhere on them that I watched.
  11. Man with 45 kids getting recognized that almost makes you feel bad to be left out.
  12. Don't know the final but Hardin was beating Cleveland 15-2 when I left in the 4th Inning.
  13. What is wrong with him? They need his bat.
  14. HJ showed why they are a threat to go to Austin every year. They didn't panick; they adjusted. They tightened the screws and put the pressure on Jasper and Jasper just couldn't find their footing in the second half in response. Excellent game and coaching by HJ..as usual. Way to go Jasper. A banner year for sure!
  15. I thought Silsbee killed Jasper on the boards the whole night. It was hard for me to figure out why Silsbee wasn't feeding the ball to Stallworth and the other big man. My goodness that was a talented Silsbee team that Jasper beat. The technical was a horrible call from what I saw and not having that kid out there was a tremendous downer for the Tigers. If Jasper could have made a few free throws in the 4th quarter I wouldn't have been sweating near as much that last minute.
  16. Couldn't agree more. Very poised for a sophomore. He has very good court awareness. He will only get better.
  17. HJ has 4 very good players and a few others that play their roll. Jasper seems to have about 3 or 4 very good players and a few that can chew up some minutes too. To me the difference will be who can make free throws, stay out of foul trouble and stay hot from the outside. Burrell, Bernard and #21. HJ has the inside, the outside and the theif (#21 is a pick pocket supreme.) Plus HJ little point guard #5 is a good little guard who can take it to the lane. Jasper has Spikes, Bailey and #20 that jack it out nonstop and Bronson working hard downlow. Jasper just flat out hustles and plays in spurts. Hard to believe Jasper was so dominated on the boards by Silsbee and still pulled it out so I guess they have a good shot against HJ too. This should be a very entertaining game to watch.
