1. It was a well played game by both teams and although Chester had two of there better players not there I still congratulate OCC on the win. OCC has a bright future in 6-man football they have some really talented athletes there. I hate for there to be a down side but I must add that the boys played a great game but the officiating was horrible.  Of all the 6-man games I have seen I have never seen anything quite like that. :o
2. Would love to have him at Chester playing 6-man football. He might have a 1000 in one night.
3.
Do you think they will ever drop to 6man?
They sure would have some long trips in district. But that's better than no football at all.
4.
Is that a final?
51-28  Sanchez-final  :(
5. How many kids do the Cards have left to play? I thought they only had 14 when the season started.
6. They played there 1st game against Mount Carmel and lost 46-0.  :(
7. Ouch,I thought Chester would have a better offense than that. :(
8.
Right now I watch most of my kids practices and no my kids are not starting. I watch so I can see their strengths and weaknesses so I know what they can work on to get on the field. Plus, I love watching football. I say nothing during practice to them even if they walk by and I say nothing to the coaches during practice. Not my place to interupt them. I even asked the coach if it was Ok for me to be there and got permission. What harm is it? I fully support my boys, their team, and their coach. IF they are never good enough to start so be it as long as they want to play I will be there to support them. That being said I DO have a problem with parents who walk up to talk to their kids during a practice (especially on the field). I think that is very disrespectful to the coaches.
^^^Exactly
9. Chester looked ok in this one, offense had 2 long runs for scores and one called back and one long pass play for a score. Defense gave up some long runs but also held on some series. Chester also had two starters that did not play because of injuries.
10.
The game with Chester and Community Christian  is a done deal from my understanding.
Will OCC have a Jr high team also?
11. I hope we have a game with OCC this year and years to come. I think having a SETX 6-man bowl would be a great thing to start here in Southeast Texas. 8)
12. No i did not no that.I no alot about Chester i went to high school there .And still go to the high school reunion every 3 years.
Not trying to be rude just stating the facts. If you don't mind me asking what years did you attend Chester?
13. Well before I refresh your memory Mr CATMAN let me say I know basketball is not Chesters strong point and it is at Goodrich.Maybe you was to young or maybe you didn't live around here or maybe you just have happen to forgot the game back on Feb 12 1997 when Goodrich played Chester and most of Chesters players was gone on a trip. Goodrich had played Chester once and beat them badly and the Goodrich coach made it well known he was going to try to set the scoring record in Texas the next time that they played Chester. Well he had more than 7 on the team that year but he pressed and played the starters the whole game. He got his record against a team playing kids who usually sat the bench.Plus Chester played almost the whole 4 qtr with 2 players on the floor, 2 against 5 and still pressing.I might add Goodrich was ranked 4th in the state that year. In case you don't remember this the score was 144 to 6. I still have a copy of the newspaper that has the article in it titled "Shame on you Goodrich" if you would like to read it I would be glad to let you. This is no way for a coach to act it's like the article says remember sometimes things like this have a way of backfiring. Just letting you know from now own don't try to blow smoke up my rear and tell me Goodrich coaches are the good guys.
14.
. Yep, Spurger still put 79 on Chester. I was not at the Goodrich ot Leggett games with Chester, but I appears to me that those two teams set out to put 100+ on a under-manned, under-skilled team.
I don't about Leggett but Goodrich is always like that. There head coach does it for rankings,to try to show how strong his team is.It only shows he's an *hole. ;)
15. The Chester boys have lots of heart they could have gave up and called it a season long ago. They played out the season against teams that they knew was going to see just how many points they could score against them.
16. I don't know state mins but $29,000 is still a lot less than 40 to $50,000.
17.
big time budget crunch going on state wide isn't it?  just wondering...
That's what it's all about. Hire coaches right out of school for $20,000 get rid of the ones making $40,000 look at all that money. Maybe Hemphill has big time money problems I don't know. Whatever floats your boat, money or winning!
18. From what I hear it's all about money. They need to cut the budget and hiring younger coaches saves money. Great way to rejuvenate a dying program. I feel for the players and fans. >:(
19. Chester wins 73 - 27. Chesters first year playing 6-man, record 4 wins 5 losses
20.           No worries. He will not be burning anybody up for a while now.
Hope it's longer than just a while!
