It is because there are 9 teams in each division for PeeWee and Junior and that requires a 9 week schedule where Senior and Flag only need 8 games.

Orange has a good amount of kids that play pop warner too so it does reduce our team size.We have cut-off dates just like everyone else. If a kid shows up like 2 weeks late then I cant help him but I have always had 31-33 kids on my roster. Mo is on senior now, and I will be on junior again because my son played as an 8 year old last year. I haven't been the head coach since Flag 2007 so this year should be fun for me and the kids!!! I am from Lumberton, and we are are lucky to have the participation we have. But I have also seen associations that hurt for funds and can't raise their registration or pay the officials fees without concessions. I do see your point too though because I have three kids that are hitting me up for a dollar every time I turn around and I never get away from a field without spending at least 20 bucks. Having said that, there are almost no sports venues that will let you bring food from home. I like going to Texans games and the truth is I like my BBQ sandwich a whole lot better than theirs and I can make it for a whole lot cheaper than 10 bucks... But rules are rules.

Each association makes their own rules on concessions, but all have the same general rule that most other youth sports organizations have and that is no outside food or drinks allowed. The concession stand pays for game officials that generally costs $150.00 per game. Small venues have to reduce their fees in order to keep participation up and that is usually only enough to pay for jerseys and equipment. While some larger associations are able to maintain a surplus it wouldn't be enough to pay for the refs all year. If concessions continue to be problem it will either become a league rule or reduce the number or quality of the officials.

[/quote] Wow that's a big claim! I don't know of any parents on Lumberton White that don't support Lumberton Red. They are confident they will go to the superbowl this year, but PNG feels the same way and are just as vocal. We will see this weekend how things work out. Good luck to both.

There have been sevaral changes in the past few years and sometimes the reference sections of the website don't clarify the rules enough. It does seem misleading so that section of weight has been  updated directly from the by-laws. [color=maroon]If a player exceeds weight in their division, they may move up to the next division. If they exceed the maximum running back weight the will be restricted to a down lineman position tackle to tackle on offense, between the tackles on defense, and line of scrimmage kick off receive only. They are not allowed to play one yard off of the center as a defensive lineman. If they are going to play on the center, they must line up in either gap.[/color]

The problem PNG ran into last year was that we were looking at them while they were busy looking at you... I dont think anybody is making that mistake this year. We preparing for Nederland Gold as hard as ya'll prepping for BC. If we get past that then we'll talk SB. I thought a scrimmage would be fun, but if you don't think ya'll will benefit from it I understand. We can't find anyone to simulate speed or anything else over here. Everywhere we call is a no.  >:( We still got the field today in case you change your mind  ;D ;D ;D
