Maybe toss a camera in a truck and cover some of the event for the kids or at least take 10 seconds out of the sports section to announce their scores. Seems to me your only interested in the bad stuff... Football would have been a lot more interesting than the little downtown event you DID decide to cover last night.

We've all been at it hard for the last 4 months and the truth is it's probably starting to wear on everybody a bit. The length of the season is also the reason we have the bad refs and calls... Which seems to be the only thing we can all agree on lately. There wasn't a game out there today that wasn't a true dogfight till the end. No team should have left the field with their tails draggin in the dirt today... not from what I saw. Every player and coach should have left this afternoon with their head held high congratulating the other team for how they played. That is especially true for PNG JR White. You fellas had an awesome season and we knew when we woke up this morning it was gonna be a rough day... I went though a half bottle of Tums by noon. Good Game! The teams advancing to the next round have a couple of weeks to rest and regroup before the 6th and I'd like to wish everybody a Happy Thanksgiving!

Good Idea!!! Let's also toss in a trespassing charge for those pesky kids on the playground I saw this weekend... They shouldn't be there when schools is not in session. BTW Dragon: I heard the world was gonna end in 2012... so this might not matter much.

I admit that I havn't read all the rules and certainly not trying to get myself banned from your site. It just seems that some of the admins have a power to open and close topics and sometimes use that power in a self serving manner. For example KFDM-COOP seems to have the power to: 1. Open a locked topic, that nobody else can post to. 2. Ask folks to send video which one can only assume would be used for KFDM. 3. Lock the topic again so nobody else can post to it. That's all about the ratings... May not help your site AT ALL, but that's how your site is being used. I do understand it's a privately owned board and you run it the way you see fit... Just funny is all.

AGREED... There are at least two open topics that need a Moderaor intervention in a bad way!!

Disagree....sometimes as responsible adults we have to pay for our actions. This in my book falls under one of those things. When your dealing with peoples kids..you better be prepared to face the music for your actions. Im sure it's different if you know the parties involved...but lets be honest...If you saw this on youtube from some league in someplace else...you'd be saying to yourself...that guy is a total jerk and should be dealt with accordingly. I dont know what happened....dont care what happened but if ya fist fight at a pee-wee league game no matter what the sport....or at a elementary school play etc...you should face the consequences of your actions. This is a bad thing for stjfl and hopefully people can realize this was the action of some hotheaded jerk living his life through his sons pee-wee football play and will not reflect on the positive things this league has going. On the other hand... The man is a volunteer that spent a tremendous amount of his own time and money to be invloved in a mostly thankless job of teaching kids the game of football. In an instant he had a reaction that I'm sure he wishes he could take back as well as all the other responsible parties. The STJFL has addressed the issue and those involved have accepted their punishments and I'm not sure the value of continuing the topic. Sad to notice that this thread was reopened by the same moderators who originally closed it... who also happen to be members of the media. Guess we didn't need to talk about it anymore until it could improve ratings or grab some attention from higher levels.

I’m disappointed that the entire Lumberton youth football program is being tied to this incident by some on this thread. I’ve been a coach here for four years and had my share of issues like any other coach, but nothing like this. I wasn’t on the field when this event happened but I’ve known the Lumberton coach for a while now and he is not the type to run up and hit somebody while their hands are in their pockets. I believe this issue should be resolved by the STJFL board using first hand non-biased witnesses and any video footage or pictures that exist. Like VHS the first thing I asked was why Lumberton was on the Bridge City side and apparently the Lumberton coach’s dad was either running the chains or visiting somebody on the other side when things went wrong. Don’t know which of those is right, but I hear they weren’t over there to start a fight.

One of the problems is that we are judged by how many points we give up and not how many we score. With a tight season like this there is a risk associated with giving up a TD rather than just changing the backfield. Because of the the loss of Orangfield we are still not sure what the playoff rules are going to be. I have had winning seasons and losing seasons and certainly know what it feels like to lose a 30+ game. But, I could tell when a coach was making an attempt to be fair or just running up the score at every chance. We were certainly not trying to humiliate any kids this weekend... That's not why I signed up as a coach. BTW: Queenb - I'll take your 13 yo boy for as long as you'll take my 9, 5, & 2 yo boys...

OUCH!!!, now why did yall do that, we layed off them at 36 points We did too... After 3rd TD we put in 2nd string backs who scored another 2 then we put in an entire new 3rd string that scored 2 more with a safety. And why do you feel the need to get on here and say this? To show your sportsmanship? I'm sorry, I promised myself I wouldn't look at the youth section cuz it sickens me. My bad. No to find out why the score was run up, thank you very much !! there is no call for running up the score dragon and embarassing those kids, i mean they only had 2 subs on the sidelines and we could of kept them out on the field and wore them out You asked me what happened and I told you. We replaced the backs before we had to and our 3rd string O is entirely made up of players that don't get to play much... not because they're not any good, but because we have a big team. I'll move players around when we're up and even tell them to "just have fun", but I never tell them to lay down. The other team was good. Their only problem I saw was was they only had a few subs as NewIndian pointed out but they also only had 1 coach on the field to help them out. They did the best they could with what they had.
