1.
I would just like to see spendora capture one of the three, with the new UIL alignments they are now ranked with more students than Huffman and that would move us to the bottom bracket. Not that the bottom would be any easier but we could avoid Navasota who has players listed in every catagory in stats. Not to mention it would be a nice change to meet someone new in the playoffs besides the same teams we play every year and a chance to meet CS in one of the rounds would make for a very exciting game.Win lose or draw that game always is a good one.
Just some food for thought: If Splendora makes it, you better hope Huffman beats Coldspring and finishes first.  If not, then WOS will be waiting in Round 1.  Mustangs playing pretty good ball right now!  Then, if the Taylor Ducks make the playoffs, I believe that would push Navasota into Division II as well.... I know there are a lot of "ifs" there, and it's a long way down the road, but......
2. Don't be so quick assuming Wimberly is coming out of Region IV.  Their potential 2nd round match-up with Gonzales will be well worth the price of admission.  Coach Lock has the Apaches playing some good football right now.
3. If Pat Reed is not on the field for Silsbee, I think it limits what they can do offensively.  May be tough to get things going against that Huffman D.  They were on point against Coldspring! Not sure what Silsbee brings to the table defensively, but I look for Huffman's offense to get back on track this week.
4. Easy, Eazy.  Don't think I would say "easily" this early.  Coldspring is good, but there may be a hungry Bellville team waiting in the 2nd round.  Just take care of Bridge City first.  One game at a time.  Day by day.
5.
Yea he threw for 300 plus yards and most of those yards were in the 4th quarter when Shepherd's defense got tired. Do your homework!! I saw the game.
Posts like this kill me!  You must have left before the 4th quarter started.  Only 75 or so of his 326 passing yards came in the 4th quarter.  Hardly qualifies as "most"!  Do your homework before making superlative statements like this in the future.  It detracts from your argument, and makes it appear that you don't know what you're talking about.

Huffman's qb is good this year but not better than last years.  DeBerry threw for around 3500 yards and accounted for over 40 touchdowns.  Now I do agree with you that the D is better.  Coldspring is a better team this year.  They have a big line they can run behind, and a defense that swarms to the ball. I can't wait to see this game but it is also 3 Weeks away.
What i have to say for that is i attended every single game DeBerry played and i saw a lot of the TDs he got that put him to that 3500yds and 40TDs was after the first half when Huffman had already ran the score up to about 60-0 and they just kept on trucking. He was a great QB but like it was said he made a few bad decision and threw picks.
Really??  Not the same games that I was watching then.  Last year, 25 of his 37 passing TDs came in the first half of games.  Only 12 came in the 2nd half.  Of those 12, only 4 came in the 4th quarter.  And bad decisions???  Only 8 picks in 374 attempts.  Doesn't sound like too many bad decisions to me.
7. Huffman doesn't run the ball that well? According to the Chron, Huffman is averaging 7.84 yards/carry and about 177 yards rushing/game.  Seems pretty good to me.
8. The DeBerry kid from Huffman does a great job managing that offense.  He makes great decisions and is putting up some big time numbers.
9. Liberty tailback goes for many, many yards. Liberty - 35 Tarkington - 14
10. Surprised both teams are O-fer right now.  The Second Season begins, and Cleveland starts to roll.  Better luck next week Shepherd.
11. Believe none of what you hear, and only half of what you see.  You heard wrong.  They beat Kashmere 26-0.
12. We had a 2-sport stand-out at Aldine MacArthur back in the day. Probably too old for most of you to remember. JR Lemons was a good receiver and even better baseball player. As a receiver, footwork and route running weren't great, but could catch anything you threw at him, even with all the broken fingers. Better baseball player though. Went on to play at Lamar.
